This is my 3rd time on Flu. 1st time hardly any side effects and did the job.
2 nd time round 4 yrs ago, terrible effects for 3 weeks but did the job eventually.
This time side effects started after 10 days and continue...... terrible anxiety, weakness, bad tummy.....maybe the odd glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel sometimes, but very brief . Any words of encouragement anyone? x

Hi Sue,
what you are experiencing is very normal. For some reason it takes a lot longer for your body to climatize to the medication. I'm on my second go at fluoexitine. First time no side effects. This time horrible side effect. Anxiety, nausea, shaking, jittery, tired, hard to concentrate or focus and depression. It has started getting better for my lately. Some people start getting some relief in the evenings. One thing that works well with me and others I have heard is I take long, hard, fast walks with my dog. It helps to burn off some of the adrenaline. Some people start feeling better slowly after four weeks. Some 8-12 weeks. Everyone is different. Try and rest when you can, and be kind to yourself. Recovery is possible it just takes time.
Good luck.

Hi Su!
Just as Laurie has said, it does seem to take a while longer for people who have been on in the past. It even seems to take longer for people who have been on any SSRI's in the past! I was switched right over from paroxetine/seroxat 65 days ago. I am still struggling over 9 weeks in! I have had some really good days though so far, so I know it is working for me, albeit slooooowwwwlllyyyy.. lol
If you're around 5 weeks, I would say you're probably over the worst of the side effects now. The only things I have left are early waking, head pressure and anxiety (with all the lovely anxiety related symptoms like negative thoughts etc) But they are slowly starting to ease. I still get really really bad days, but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel ????
xx

I know exactly how you feel it's a terrible feeling! Plus we're trying to take a med that's supposed to make us feel better, and instead it does the opposite for a while! I assure you though, It's just trying to find the balance in your body. It takes time but SO many people have said it's the best AD they've taken. It's just a waiting game
Also, I feel like crap today too. I'm in the middle of a blip and ready for it to pass already!!
