Erectile dysfunction

Hi,

I'm on citalopram 20mg for anxiety and it causes me to be a bit numb down below, I haven't had a morning erection in years and can't figure out if its the medication or part of my anxiety disorder. Are SSRI'S meant to completely wreck your sex life or do you think its the anxiety and state of mind that contributes as well?

I'm otherwise a fit & healthy 25 year old male with no physical health problems dispite anxiety/low mood. I've had blood tests for my erectile dysfunction and they all came back normal my testosterone levels etc.

My GP also prescribed viagra for me, but being anxious I'm frightened to take it as I've heard of rare stories of people having heart attacks after taking this drug.

Erectile dysfunction is a possbile side effect of some SSRIs.

Have you spoken to your doctor about the issue? They may be able to prescribe an alternative.

My GP just shrugged and said it will cause ED and left it at that. Thanks I'm already on testosterone replacement due to a dodgy vasectomy

As long as Viagra doesn't interfer with present medication. ...it does work..and at low doses the side effectds for Me are minimal.
