Erectile Dysfunction after TURP

Posted , 3 users are following.

Hi

I've had prostate cancer and brachy therapy in 2016. The following year I had my bladder cut open to allow me to wee as the radiation caused my bladder neck to scar over.

The next year I had TURP, to clean out scar tissue and calcification in my prostate, then again this year I had TURP again to remove more calcification and scarring.

All was fine with erections before until the last TURP this year, as it has caused a rather severe case of permanently soft penis. I just cannot get a hard-on even with 100mg Viagra or 20mg Cialis.

I am still under Urology at the hospital and have another appointment in June.

I wondered if anyone else has suffered like this after prostate cancer. Also has anyone experience of a penis pump or injections, as I think that may be the way I'm heading.

Thank you.

Colin

TURP is a common reported cause of loss of sexual function. I will be interested to see if anyone has found a way of reversing this,

Hi Colin, I am sorry that you have had these health experiences. I think the question you ask is a little too specialist for this website - probably it would be better if you can find an online Forum for Men who have undergone similar treatments for the conditions you have suffered.

I do however have experience of using a penis pump / developer - the general comment on using these is that it is very easy to damage the penis, particularly causing 'blood-blebs' (small leakages of blood under the skin) on the head of the penis itself. What you have to do is use one every day and build on any advances you get very slowly so that your penis gets used to the idea of being dealt with in this manner.

Be warned, when you do injure yourself with a pump / developer you will need to take a complete sex / masturbation break for 3, 4 or 5 + months depending on healing and the nature of the injury specifics. So, if you want to achieve something in 6, 7 or 8 month time the try one - but you will need to set-aside 15 to 20 minutes a day to do this. I can help you further on this if you want to try anyway ...

In terms of getting the specific insight of other Men who have undergone the medical procedures you have I wonder if there is some sort of support group or network, or a buddy group / network where you received your treatment ....... ?
