    Hi.

Yes! I get this frequently. I'm 48 and I've been in peri for about 5 years and my frequency and flow has been erratic throughout this time to say the least. However, this last year has produced the type of period you are describing. It's frustrating because it's very unpredictable. It often feels as if my period is just stalling out and never completes a full bleed like it used to. Light in the morning, heavy in the evening, light again. I also have cramps and other pms symptoms just like I did when I was a teenager. My doctor put me on a very low dose of bio-identical hormones, as my progesterone and estrogen were extremely low. It seems to help with my many peri symptoms and has lightened the flow a bit, but not the frequency.

I just started the hormones 5 months ago and I'm hoping they will continue to improve the symptoms.

I'm sorry you are going through this. From what I understand this bleeding pattern (any erratic bleeding pattern) is common as we continue to approach menopause. If you are concerned, see your doctor for some solutions. You shouldn't have to suffer! Big hugs--Sarah
