I have been on Esyma twice now and feel this time round is not as effect as the last time around, they say should take 10 days then settle down, also says if you are still bleeding alot you need to contact your doctor again. I have been on it 6 weeks tomorrow and still getting spots of blood but not as bad as i was.

Hi, I had been bleeding constantly for months too be for I was put on Esmya, it took a good 3/4 weeks to kick in for me tbh, but once it did it was such a welcome break from the dreadful pain and bleeding, I did still spot for most of the first cycle so had to wear a pantyliner at all times. The two month break reminded me of how bloody awful these fibroids are as had really bad periods but once back on Esmya I was fine again (but even on second cycle took 3/4 weeks to stop bleeding completely!). I just wish I would start menopause to avoid hysterectomy, but no sign yet so am waiting for my date. Do you know when you will be having yours yet? I am very nervous, but also know I need to get these pesky fibroids out of me......get on with my life!!

Good luck, you should start to feel the benefits soon, there are some side effects, I have felt tired all the time.....and my joints ache a bit.......but hey, I feel so much better while taking them!!

You sound like me, I have got to stage where i just want to think about other things and not plan around "good weeks" and what trousers will fit and God forbid I every wear white!! I wanted to try to get to menopause but how long do you wait, I am 51 now and showing no signs! My friend recently had a hysterectomy and I can see such a difference, she looks so well and happy......I remember feeling like that (probably a couple of years ago) and can't wait to feel better again!! I used to exercise, but can't even go for a long walk without paying for it later with pain and bleeding!!

They said mine should be Aug or Sept.......hey, we might be looking good and feeling fine by Christmas!! 😀

Let me know how you get on with Esmya, they really do help and as no bleeding or pain you can get head straight for hysterectomy.

Hi I started Esmya 6 weeks ago and I had continuous spotting and a bit of heavy bleeding now and again for about the first 3 to 5 weeks. I contacted my consultant to ask if this was normal and she said yes and it can last for up to 2 months at first. Mine stopped about 1-2 weeks ago and I've had nothing since which is such a relief. I have had no other side effects and just wish I could take these pills until I'm completely through the menopause. It's wonderful to have no bleeding now. I have a 3.5cm fibroid and it's not grown since last summer but I had very heavy and sometimes long periods so the consultant suggested these tablets to shrink it and then I will be a year older (I am currently 51) and then hoping when I stop the tablets my periods are much lighter and manageable (if the fibroid has shrunk). Good luck.
