Hi Ladies

Im now 17 days post op and for the last couple of days my food has been tasting really salty.  I have even questioned my partner if he has put salt on my dinners??

Has anybody else experienced this??

How are you all doing? Im finally starting to feel a lot better....Im still very sore but only taking painkillers at night as still not getting a good nights sleep due to not being able to get comfy.

Im walking a lot better now and have been out to our local coffee shop a few times this week.

Hope your all having a good restful weekend

Di xx

    Hi Di

Sorry cannot explain the salty taste.  We drink bottle water only and sometimes the spring water does taste very salty, unless the antibiotics and anesthetic is still playing havoc with your system.

So glad you are doing well.  I am absolutely amazed at how wonderful I feel.  I want to hug and kiss my surgeon!

    Have a great weekend.

    Love

Hi Diane. My taste buds were affected for weeks post op. I've come to the conclusion this is down to anaesthics - apparently they linger in the body for ages. My sense of smell was affected too. It will settle but it might take a couple of months.

    Hi Diane

I m 14 days post op and not got the salty taste but have certainly got no appetite. I m eating but just don't fancy anything at all. I m also still very tired, my sleep pattern is all over the shop! I can walk a lot better but can't walk far, we can only get stronger and stronger x
