Things are just getting worse, now my eyes are but

rning all the time. I had cataract surgery in January, found out I have hyperthyroid in March, and have2 nodules on my thyroid, as well as COPD, now this last week my eyes started to burn, nothing helps. I what’ve to wait another 2 months before seeing an Endocrinologist. I plan on seeing my GP, Looks like the thyroid keeps giving me more problems.

I have extremely dry eyes and I recall a year when during the winter and inside heating they were extremely burning like yours.  My ophthalmologist inserted collagen plugs to keep more moisture in my eyes.  That and eye drops like Restasis (prescription eye drop) and Optive Fusion (off the shelf eye drop) helped my eyes a lot.  Some people take Selenium supplements to help with the eye problems

Can you get a copy of your thyroid test results and post your results along with the ranges for normal beside each result in brackets?   Also did you get antibody testing with your thyroid tests?  If you can post these, there are things you can do to improve your results.

All I have is the ultra sound results of 2 nodules. I asked for a fine needle biopsy, but I haven’t got it yet. I am ready to ask again, and ask for antibody testing. The only other thing I can tell you is my labs came back great except for the thyroid level of .02. I take Eye drops to prevent glaucoma from taking over, and they feel like acid in my eyes. That may be my problem. I will talk to my eye specialist to see if that contributes as I use the drops at night.

      Thanks Linda
