Fat & Wasting my life

Hello.

I'm 17 years old and I am fat. On account of that I am very depressed and I can't have a normal life. When I was 14..15 I was very beautiful and slim and I looked like a model. I was happy from all points of view. I put on much weight while I had to study for some exams. Now I am very sad and I can't study for school as I used to. I am not friendly anymore.. I am not self confident anymore and life is harsh. I simply cannot lose weight. I tried many things.. such as gym. I cannot cope with this stressing life..I am so so sad.

    Hi Scarlettt!

I completely understand how you feel! I was always the fat girl and still am! It's hard but don't best yourself up about it.

I always tried dieting and gym etc but my heart wasn't in it! You will know when the time is right and you will put 120% effort in!

How much do you weigh if you don't mind me asking?

Have you got family and friends to support you and to talk to?

Maybe go and see your doctor and they can suggest things and programs to follow etc and maybe even some tests to check your thyroid etc!

Thanks so much for your reply!

I have 133 lbs and 153 cm. I had my tyroid checked and the doctor said there were almost no problems, but it is possible to encounter some tyroid problems in the future. My family and my friends do not support me that much. My mother tells me that she is tired to hear all " these stupid things " and nobody cares..

When I went to a doctor 2 months ago he said that I had to lose something like 17 lbs to have the right weight for me.. I couldn't..

133 pounds is 9.5 stone is that right?

If so then please do not worry about your weight as this is fine!!

I am 20 stone which is 280 pounds!

Scarlett you really shouldnt be worrying about that weight, that is a very healthy weight! I would be made up if I could get down to ten and a half stone. What size are your clothes? You certainly are not fat, even if you think you are x

Scarlett i really feel for you! My daughter is overweight too and unfortunately has suffered this most of her life. She is still beautiful though and i am sure you are, so please stop being so hard on yourself. I realise that is easier said than done cos me and my daughter go through the same thing but i have ra also so that is my main worry. I want to lose weight as I feel it will help my joints but when I feel low I reach fir the chocolate. I used to be very slim , even skittd at at school fir being skinny so hated it! What is your dress size? I am sure it is not as bad as you think! And you shoukd also know that most men (those that are not shallow anyway) prefer women with "a bit of meat on them". My daughter has lost 11 lb recently just by avoiding bread! She is so pleased and I know that works cos when I stop eating bread it drops off me too! Please try to understand that there is so much more to life than being slim and it sounds like you are being too hard on yourself. You need to start going out with friends again and not put too much pressure on yourself. It is aa really difficult time for you but with a few simple changes you can be very happy again. Do you have someone close you can speak to? Are you taking anything for your depression? If you want to talk please message me. I hate to think that you are so unhappy. Please take care xx

      Thank you for your reply!

Now I feel better, as I read these beautiful lines. I liked very much what you wrote to me.

I wear medium clothes and 38 for trousers. All my classmates wear S - small clothes and 34. They all look so well no matter what they wear.

Anyway, I hope things will get better.

      Thank you again ! smile

If you would always be a bigger girl, i would say that this is you and you should accept and love yourself. But if you only gained weight while studying for tests, i would say give it a push and lose it. If that's what will make you feel better about yourself, it's worth it. Also, you're not naturally chubby, so it will be easier to keep the weight. I once gained 28 pounds in 3 months and it took me ages to lose it. But the end it only happened when i really decided and went for it. There is no easy way.
