Fear of Prolapse

Hi all. Can anyone tell me if what I am feeling is normal, me being paranoid or what? I'm in the second week of my phased return to primary teaching. Still on 50% of hours but next week hikes up to 75%. The days are tough for example I did an afternoon of bread making with 27 11 year olds today, back in for a morning tomorrow and the 2nd of 2 parents evenings I had a rugby sized fibroid before my TAH and this caused me all manner of issues with stress incontinence. Like a miracle, post op this disappeared. The one positive of this whole business. But after a vigorous sneeze today the problem seemed to come back. Not as bad but I had leakage! I have been religious about my pelvic floor exercises but my fear is that the standing, physical strain of my increased hours has contributed to this. I have that feeling "something" is there and I'm praying it is not a prolapse. Felt like this mid week last week too but that sensation went after a good nights sleep. Is it that I'm doing too much? I daren't be off sick again. My employer only allows a 4 weeks phase then it's full time. Fortunately I have got the Easter hols coming up before at the end of my phased period. 2 weeks to recover before fully in. I would welcome any advice from anyone experiencing similar problems.

Hi Sally, I had bad prolapse for years and got it fixed with the bladder mesh screen and they repaired my pelvic floor. It was one of the best things I have done for myself! Covered by insurance and recovery was not too bad.  I highly recommend it!

    Hi Sally

There is a new discussion started about two hours ago with the title "vaginal pain". You might find this helpful. I believe the fact that after a good night's sleep the sensation of "something" there subsided, it's more than likely related to your stress free job! I was a teacher for 15 years before I decided I had had enough! Teaching is a demanding occupation and by the sounds of it, given your circumstance you are coping amazingly well! As much as you may be tempted right now...probably best to avoid any late night partying when you come home from teaching! X

Yes, I have followed that discussion. Thing is those ladies are only a few weeks post op and I'm now 14. However, it could be something to do with cervix removal like they had. Had the same sensation but not as bad tonight despite another day extended by parents evening. Only on tomorrow afternoon thank goodness. I'm sure you are right it is to do with the stresses of the job. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for your kind comments and understanding.
