Only been on this new estrogen only patch 5 days and woke up this morning (too early) and felt really anxious wired . I’m thinking of cutting it in half unless it gets better ? Or maybe just too strong for me?Â
I’m finding with ALL these patches that they don’t let me sleep a proper sleep I’m waking up too early .Â

Hi Lori
I'm going to do a post on mine as 5th week atm and since Sunday I've had my anxiety return in the mornings and keep waking up to early to. My itching got really bad last week to, its like I'm coming on as had start of a period today(didn't think we're supposed to have pmt and periods on hrt) so I know some people say it can take 3 months to start feeling better and some it's 6 months. I guess we are all different.

Hi Lori, I'm not on any kind of hormones because I had the pre cancer cells and had to have a hysterectomy when I was 27 and grandmother had breast cancer so just to risky for me so can't take , but just wanted to let you know that, I did experience this too the waking up at like 430 5 am wired for like 6 months straight it wasn't fun, I just made myself get up and for like 2 to 3 hours I would have to do something where I was physically moving every single day, so I would take a shower , do some laundry , let the dogs out, cook some food , wash floors dust, it was crazy , thought I was going insane... But that's what I had to do to get this wired feeling to calm down.. I think its cortisol at that time of the day is at its highest.. And extra cortisol dumping into bloodstream equals anxiety wired feeling.. So as you know the only way to burn it off is exercise... I think its just all part of menopause its a symptom and these symptoms come and do go, they usually come back to visit you again later but they will leave you for a while.. I don't think there is any way around this particular symptom when it happens you just have yo learn how to deal with it until it goes away , and another nasty one replaces it.. Its all part of the roller coaster ride we are all on.. And from what ive read the hormones don't help it that much if at all And sometimes can even intensify all the symptoms, but either way ,whether your the hormones or not, pretty sure you just have to find a way to go through it.. Maybe since you are a runner, you could run at that time of day, I know its early but you can always take a nap after you burn off all the anxiety and cortisol, when you crash a couple hours later which is what happens, I always took a nap after all this, everyday around noon when I crashed.. So just some friendly advice here.. And it will change for you, it was awful but I'm sleeping through the 4 o'clock hour again and it feels good.. Hope it stays that way.. Better days are ahead??

Yes happened to me too in October waking up at 4.30am wired. Got through that and back to normal after a few weeks. I didn’t know it was hormones and I wonder if that is better ‘not knowing ‘ as I just thought it was a ‘phase’ . This time not as bad 7.00am but it’s still too early for me .Â
Now I know it’s all hormones and I’ve learned so much ..... but kind of feel it’s better being in the dark and being ignorant .Â
We start to obsess get stressed out instead of just riding the wave  .
