Feel lowest ever on fluoxatine

Hi,
i have aver been on flu for almost eight weeks and this morning I am at my lowest yet. I have unbearable anxiety and muscular pain in my face neck and back. I feel this is never going to work for me. I am on 20mgs but have been given more to go up to 40 if I want. I just feel scared all the time.
I just need to know this will be all worth it in the end
thanks x

I took flu over twelve months ago at 60mg and it changed me outlook on life unbelievably for the better. Unfortunatly it did take about 8-10 weeks to kick in, I had bouts of anger and had a few side effects but it was worth the wait.
Unfortunatly I went through a spell of heavy drinking whilst on flu and ended up stipping flu all together as my OCD convinced me that fluoxitine was the cause (stupid of me I know) I then tried citalopram and absolutly hated it, I was depressed and my anxiety was at its worst so I then took myself off that and stayed off meds for about 8 months, until now where I am back on 40mg fluoxitine and I havent felt as good or as calm as this in a hell of a long time, my OCD and moods, my anxiety is nothing like it was.
The second time round of taking fluoxetine has taken less time to kick in, this is my sixth week of being on it.
8-10 weeks I started feeling alot better the first time I started taking it and if you decide to give it a bit longer pkease let me know how you do

thanks for for your reply. I was on cipramil to and drank quite a lot to so not sure if they helped. I now don't drink at all. They took ages to kick in and it seems the same with fluoexitine as now into the ninth week and still anxious and have headaches and neasea at times also quite spaced out. I feel like they are never going to work and am tempted to up the dose or change them. It just so hard to make rational decisions when you are so anxious.

I was paranoid, I went to a do last weekend and hardly anyone spoke to me, it was just busy I suppose but last night I felt I'd upset someone amd hey ho, then comes the anxiety.
My point is that if im still having negative side effects maybe you are the same.
I wouldnt like to tell you whats best because im not a doctor, maybe re book with your doc and see what he/she says.
Hope ive helped and good luck.

thanks for for your advice. You sound very similar to me I'm always afraid I've upset someone. I avoid nights out just like quiet nights in.
i am going to give this dose 12 weeks and then decide what to do. I feel going by these forums flu is the best. I have put on weight though but have been eating more. I need to get more excercise and eat healthy.
good luck to you. I will keep in touch if that's okay.

keep going, try and occupy yourself with something you enjoy, I know its not easy and youve probably heard it all before. The longer you try and learn to accept the thoughts the easier it will become, that I promise because it does get easier, although not over night.
I enjoy christmas, so I watch a christmas film to occupy myself or I clean up because I love a clean house and it makes me happy.
I had severe OCD twelve months ago and with help and flu im alot better.
No problem at all about you keeping in touch.

Your a strong person as it seems like your keeping sh*t together, we dont realise how strong we are to be fair, took me a while to realise this although im not convinced all the time.
Im ok but ive had a drink for the past two days which I shouldnt really do, not alot but enough.
Dont force yourself to take the medication and make sure you feel right in yourself to take it and I hope things work out for you verey soon.
Keep in touch. And take care, youll reyt :-)

Ive not exercised and ive eaten to much and not been counting my calories so my body dysmorphia is kicking in today but atm im managing to ignore my thoughts.
Thats great about your good weekend and the word 'positive' is a great ingredient :-)
If you have had a good weekend it might just be the thought of it being that day monday again, monday blues I call it. When I have a good weekend it often comes crashing back down that its the beggining of the week again.
Glad you had a good weekend :-)

sorry to to hear your not having a good day. I find I am really overeating just now and not excercising. I have put on a stone I really struggle with my weight and have lost over 4 stone but just can't seem to eat sensibly just now.
your probably right about it being Monday
