I am assuming you saw the dr. regarding the diagnosis....Pls discuss this w/the dr. get a secomd opinion because you are quite young to feel so badly. I have friends in their 70's that have Barretts and aren't feeling quite like you are. They do take medication for the Barretts...Get a second opinion and tell them everything you feel and get well......liz

Hey Dean,
I have the same thing, silent reflux, and I can honestly tell you that I can't remember a time
when I used to feel well .
I imagine it wasn't all that long ago in reality , but it certainly seems like years and years ago. I have had every symptom there is in relation to this crappy ailment. I'll bet that all or a good deal of your symptoms are because of this. There are just so many varying symptoms that go along with reflux. Of course it could be something else , you can't rule out that possibility , but personally I chalk it all up to reflux. I've put up with all this for so long that it's just another day no questions asked.

Oh yes, I get asked all the time what's the matter with me. Last night at a works bbq, I am coughing, choking whilst eating, not a pretty sight, and believe me not good for me. Totally understand how you feel. Want to try going to the cinema with acid reflus......tring to keep a cough at bay for 2 hours was physically impossible....

Sorry you are suffering so much at such a young age.
When my reflux is bad i do get all those symptoms.
Do you have food allergies or intolerances?
I know my LES spincter muscle doesnt work properly so for the last 2 1/2 yrs i have been trying to figure out why. I know from my second endoscope i have a very small hiatus hernia but i havent been convinced its the sole cause of reflux.
Im now suspecting after much research I have SIBO. I plan to test for this soon.
My last resort will be linx procedure.
Its important to raise your bed at least 8 inches. I have 2 bricks under mine. Gravity helps keep acid out of oesphagus.
A low fat diet helps and avoiding all the normal trigger foods. I assume you are aware of all of these? Choc, caffeine and alcohol are my top trigger foods.
Always here to help Dean.
All the best
Dom
