Feeling anxious

I went to Dr. today . I am so exhausted after hearing everything I have going against me.....
she said my pain tolerance must be very high because of my inflammation levels being so high..
she said a normal level is 23 and mine were 123!!
I have been having more pain lately in my back and my chest. she said I must go to Rheumatologist she said I for sure have RA but the rheumatologist has to rule out any other problems.
my liver enzymes are high. I am feeling so anxious right now I cant even think.
can I live a normal life with RA? can I still work?
will this pain get worse? I am so tired of my thoughts being all over the place.
I know that God can heal me I am just trying to grasp all of this. !

I think you should wait and see what the specialist has to say. I had all that and nothing was found by the rheumatologist.
Also, was just now reading a FB post on celebrities living with RA, many have had it since being very young. Among them famous actors and world class athletes. So yes, one can be ok living with RA.
Just try not to worry until you know.
My doc was scaring me about hepatitis and needing that liver biopsy, which all turned out to be nothing!

Hi grace. Yes Dr. Is right ra factor needs to be below a 13 mine is 330 and seems every time I'm rechecked its even higher, I for one think peri made this all worse I think low to no estrogen is what give us all our crazy symptoms.. I was diagnosed with RA after my ra factor was off the charts high and went in there with frozen shoulder, tge pain and inflammation bounces from one joint to the next.. The one thing that calmed my pain was /is an anti-inflammatory diet, that is key to feeling any kind of normalcy with this disease.. I also think ive had this ra for many years if not my entire life as ive always felt bad with my joints and so forth, and who gets an ra factor or inflammation test when young ??? Not to many so probably been walking around feeling awful for many years , only to get much much worse during perimenopause..it all depend on how aggressive the disease is for you as to whether or not it will effect your ability to continue to work. Keep seeing your ra doctor so you have all your medical records documented as to the progression of the disease.. If it does get worse and most people collect social security disability after about 5 years of being diagnosed because the flare ups of joint pain and fatigue just isn't worth the pain anymore.. So important to keep good records for if and when that day ever comes, you are NOT denied your benefits, which are easier to prove when your seropositive for the disease rather than seronegative.. I'm living proof so far that you can keep on keeping on but it is tough..diet remember is key to feeling somewhat ok with this good luck with your ra doctor visit

I hear you on the anxious part.. I"m dealing with a foot problem and I may need surgery!!! I am praying that it's physical therapy that I need but I have to wait another few weeks of rest...I would wait to talk with Rheumatologist-- often times we think of the worst case scenario. BTW-- my liver enzymes were high this last test and will retest to make sure... Try and do something you enjoy and talk each day as it comes. I hope you hear good things at your next Dr's visit!

I agree with all these ladies. It's insane all the crazy symptoms you can get from peri and menopause that mimic other things. So I wouldn't jump to RA. Maybe try anti-inflammatory supplements and diet? I feel like I started to have all sorts of weird pain and symptoms in peri and am falling apart physically (pain, fatigue, weight gain), mentally (anxiety) etc. I had a cold 4 weeks ago and just from coughing may have fractured a rib which still hurts like hell. It's ridiculous we have to fall apart in our 40s and men are still having babies. I feel like 40 is the new 80. 😦 Some one needs to find a solution and they'll be rich.

There are a few things you can do to help yourself. Cut out sugar, reduce bad carbs such as breads, and introduce tumeric into your life if you haven't already, whether through tea or add it to your food. I often put it through my rice or in my mince, stirfries etc

hi grace - ugh! i feel your pain & anxiety - i woke up 7 months ago not being able to basically walk - one knee really bothered me, found out it was bone on bone, but that wasnt the sole issue, it was more of an inability to walk because of overall leg pain in both legs. my legs hurt so much after being in a sitting position. my legs changed like overnight...had swelling under both knees, overall both legs felt "puffy" even though nothing had changed for me. this literally happened overnight. MY C REATIVE score(inflammation) kept creeping up, what should have been between 1-3 range is now 5 - my leg pain got intolerable, even though i have been doing, yoga, aqua aerobics & strength & conditioning - went to DR & asked to have a sed rate, AnA & metabolic blood test - all came back negative except the ANA, i tested positive for auto immune - cant get an appt with rhematilogist until AUGUST - i just think hormones make everything go haywire at this point - i am 7 years post meno, but really didnt experience bad symptoms until about 4 years ago - i will say, doubling up on my high quality omegas makes me feel better - i really think this lack of estrigen really wrecks havic on our whole system -

yes Debra, I will be 52 next month and I started feeling aches and pains about 4yrs. ago but here lately the pain is more intense and is affecting my neck and back where before it was m shoulers, wrists, hands and feet. My Dr. says she is certain it is RA because of high inflammation levels but I have read other peoples post where their levels are high and its not RA.I'm not sure if they have swelling in fingers like I do but the Dr. looked at my fingers and knees and said there were signs of RA.I cant believe it takes so long to get in with Rheumatologist!! Are there really that many people being affected by this?
