Feeling awful

in august I was having some awful health issues, had X-rays & an ultrasound & was called to urgently attend the dr surgery. The dr wouldn't look at me or answer any of my questions after telling me I had a tumour on my left ovary. I spent the next 4 days in bed dry retching & generally freaking out while waiting for an urgent appointment. Saw the specialist who informed me I had a fibroid & it was nothing to worry about. I was overjoyed. The last 3 months have been ok but still have very heavy periods. So I went back to the dr 2 weeks ago to tell him about all the pain I'm in, he thinks it's due to my anxiety, so I get bloods & ultrasound done again & everything is good so I've been referred to a specialist for a d&c. However I'm still in all this pain. So I go back on Monday, he doesn't even check me over just tells me I'm suffering severe anxiety & prescribes me with sertraline, I took the first half of the tablet on Monday lunchtime & the 2nd half on Tuesday morning. I started feeling awful around 10, dry retching & dizziness,  so I came home from work & had a sleep. When I woke up I felt so sick & nfeauseous, very dizzy & had severe pelvic pain. I had a family member take me to emergency where I was put on a drip & given anti- neasusea medication, I began to feel much better after a few hours. ED dr said I was suffering from seritonitus & advised me not to take the drug. I've been home since 8 last night & still feel dizzy & sick in the stomach with pelvic pain. I went back to my dr & he would like me to continue the meds, he says I've just had a panic attack but I've never had an attack like that in my life. I'm too scared of having another episode to continue taking the drug. Please help. I'm such a mess.

your symptoms would not be down to the sertraline drug having only taken one full tablet.its most probably the ovary issue but i still would not go down that road with sertraline,i have been on many anti d,s and have gone cold turkey with sertraline, its the worst drug for side effects i have ever been on.im now 5 weeks off anti d,s and feel great.

My opinion on anti d,s is they make you feel worse with all the side effects, see another doctor the one you have been seeing is obviously not listening.

    good luck

    Hi Natasha

I read your sad go around. I am so sorry you were scared to death.

Perhaps you can request an alternative to sertraline.

    kind regards

I agree with Joanne don't bother with Sertraline they're hideous drugs & how ignorant the doc was not listening to you. Go to another who will listen.

Good luck I hope you get sorted. X
