Feeling Faint

Anyone have this problem that when your stomach starts to cramp you feel like you are going to throw up or pass out? I am wondering if it is my anxiety doing that for fear of the pain or if it is associated with IBS?

Any suggestions on how to control this feeling and I am already on anxiety meds but for the past week my anxiety has been really high

    Hi,

Yes I do and get a lot of diarrhoea, IBS is law unto it's own, affectspeople in so many different my ways. Not everyone will get the same symptoms but someone will always have some or several symptoms as someone else. And they can change with the bouts. If you have not already seen the doctor then YOU need to. I have sickness tablets from my doctor which help.

If in UK then peppermint oil tabs are on prescription, if you pay for you'd prescriptions then compare the costs between both and do the cheapest.

Yes.. I have experienced these symptoms. In fact I have actually fainted many times - the most recent was last night when my wife discovered me on the bathroom floor after falling off the toilet in severe agony with an IBS attack.

The fainting is a sudden result of loss of blood pressure, you get hot/cold and then sometimes faint. Prior to fainting I am in severe pain but strangely after recovering from fainting the pain is usually gone - apart from a sore head hitting the concrete floor !

I swear by peppermint oil capsules which are available from most chemists without prescription. I take two when I feel the onset of problems and they usually start to take effect after about 15 minutes. Unfortunately some of my IBS attacks occur in less than 15 minutes, which leaves me in severe pain.

I avoid fatty meats which is always a trigger. Stress and anxiety will also make symptoms worse and more frequent.
