Feeling horrendous

Been on citalopram for 10+ years for anxiety, came off them and switched to sertraline as I felt I had plateaud, stopped the sertraline after a week as the side effects were horrendous, would rather be dead than feel like that, due to start prozac monday, in the meantime I have been given 2mg 3x daily of diazepam, and they are not touching the anxiety.....any ideas??

I just felt they were not helping my anxiety anymore redmarigolds, I am now terrified of taking any more SSSI's because of the side effects, currently waiting for NHS 24 to call me back as I called to ask if I could increase the dose of the diazepam sad

Prozac can be effective but it takes a little time and titration until you feel the full positive effects.  I'm slowly titrating up on it as I'm switching from another AD drug.  I feel a tiny bit of improvement which is a good sign.

Ty Jim, can I ask what dose you are on? x

20 mgs prozac.  Small dose.  Have to further reduce venalfaxine so I can increase prozac to something more effective.  Hoping higher dose will do the trick.

I am due to start prozac on Monday, dreading the initial side effects as it gets into my system...
