I've been noticing that about an hour after taking my dosage that I feel a little more active and outgoing. Like myself again, this lasts for a couple of hours before I get anxious and nervous again. Is this just my body getting used to the new medication? Because if I feel like I feel after taking my dose (aside from the indigestion) I think this medicine will be fine for me...however when the feeling wears off I feel anxious and scared all over again.

Hiya how long have you been on the medication? I know before when I tried it only once (had a surprise holiday due to that I stopped the medication as I had only taken it once ) but that day I took it I felt so relaxed and like my body was also physically relaxed as usually I am so tensed up with anxiety I really noticed my body felt like it used to relaxed and calm, maybe it's starting to work in small bit here and there and those period of "outgoing and active" may become more frequent and last longer and longer as it kicks in xx I am due to start this med again next week have u suffered side effects I'm so scared xxx

This is day 4 for me on 40mg. However I switched directly over from 50mg sertaline so I was taking the sister drug. So far I've experienced some increased anxiety and nervousness, some tummy upset but I take it at night now and that helps (mostly light nausea and indigestion but TUMS have helped) I have yet to experience insomnia and actually feel more tired. Though my anxiety makes it hard to eatell so my blood sugar might be tanking and making me tired. I've also experienced some tension headaches.
Yea after I take it I feel more calm and relaxed though that feeling goes away after a few hours. I'm hoping that means I'm getting used to it. Because I moved from one ssri and have built up some tolerance I assume. I would say to start small and build up over a course of weeks to months. My dose is still considered small, fluoxetine goes all the way up to 80mg.

That's still a high dose to start on I also have sweating nausea I've been on it for 19days I take liquid Prozac real small dose most startling dose is usually 10mg then work up . I also think why we're feeling like this is because it's getting in our system. Keep in touch having someone to talk to helps.

I've only been taking it for 4 days now though I was previously on sertaline on 50mg so the transition might be a little less harsh on me because I already had a similar drug in my system. How long have you been on it? Are the days any easier?

Yeah, I'm really hoping that the side effects stop..I wish there was medication you could take without these awful side effects. I know I just started but I hope within a week or two I'll be almost side effect free...it's been really hard especially since I'm an emetophobe so I'm constantly worried about my stomach.

Me and you both I will say your dose is to high to start on especially Prozac it's a potent drug I don't mind to vomit it's the sweating panic attacks being so nervous that's bothering me.Im taking 1mg Prozac liquid . I'm very sensitive to all medicine . You dose is way to high for starting dose

My phyciatrist I think has me at this dose because it should help with my ocd and phobia of throwing up (I'm constantly trying to avoid any situation that could mean me getting sick) though I was very scared to start on 40mg. And now that I've already started it is almost just want to even out on this dosage rather then go down to 20mg. I'd hate to have to go through all these symptoms again...I'm going to see my phyciatrist tomorrow morning so I'm going to ask him what I should do.

I've heard from multiple people my doctor is one of the best in the area and has been practicing for 30+ years so I'm putting a lot of trust in his judgment. Really hoping he'll have some insight for me cause this week has been hard. Have you tried searching for a better doctor or second opinion?

Thanks, it's nice to know that you're not alone out there with these feelings. If my phyciatrist has any insight for me tomorrow on this drug I'll be sure to post.

Yea today I just feel nervous and on edge, something I can't quite place. My ocd of course is always a problem, especially right now in the early days of my medication (Friday will be a week since I started) I hope that we all start feeling better soon, or at least have fewer days of anxiety...

Thank you, yea my ocd has been pretty bad, just constantly at the back of my mind. I've been trying to use some of my cbt techniques to make it manageable. The derealization has been on and off pretty bad too, I think that's one of the worst things. I'm glad things are looking up for you though, it gives me hope.

Today has been pretty okay, I was able to socialize and laugh with friends and co-workers today. Still a bit nervous and off, hopefully I'll have more days like this though, and keep getting better and better as I go. Hoping that the side effects will get less and less too. I've been able to eat a little bit more and find some of my hunger returning.

Today has been okay, a bit difficult and I ended up getting stressed out, because my bf and I are moving apartments and it's been a bit daunting. Tonight I'm feeling a bit nervous and anxious but trying to keep mindful and practice my cbt. I'd rather not take an ativan. I think days are getting better though, I'm past a week now so I'm hoping things will only improve.
