Hi all

I was prescribed citalopram 40mg for 3 years due to depression & anxiety, then after a breakdown in NOV that landed me in hospital for a night (I attacked my partner, sister and 5 rather large policemen!) i was not charged thank goodness! My Dr has now weaned me off citalpram onto 7.5mg Mirt then 15mg Mirt, I feel worse! low in mood, tired all the time, lack of motivation and mood swings, before the change i was high and low in mood all the time, the Crisis Team at the hospital suggested that i might be Bi-polar? but i have not been assesed for this. I am so confused, this xmas has been the worst as i have felt like a zombie and did not want to socialise with anyone.

Is this normal?

I have seen the Doctor and have been referred to my MHT for prognosis (query bipolar?) my condition worsened with erratic behaviour

The doctor also prescribed fluoxetine 20mg until I have seen the MHT for additional medications (mood stabilisers) let's hope I can get these manic days under control?

I have tried Citopram and Mirtazapine. Citalopram was like smarties to me no really us to me. Mirtazapine at low levels up to 30 mg was ok but when I increased to 45 mg was awful so I came of it. I am now on Venaflaxine, which come with it own challenges, but they are at least more manageable for me. Only you can decide if they are right for you and if you have doubts you need to dicuss with your GP
