Hi ladies,
Was just wondering if anyone had had this explained to them from their gyno or had any insight to share. Just something I've been curious about.
So my fibroid is now 12cm x 10cm 7cm based on my last scan. Even though it didn't grow while on Esmya, my uterus continued to grow. I can't remember exactly, but it's about 20cm x 15cm x 11cm. Around 22 weeks.
I was just wondering why the uterus grows so much bigger than the fibroid itself. Sure it's grown because of the fibroid, but it's almost double the size. Anyone know the reason for this? Is that just normal or is it likely there are more ba.stards hiding that we can't see? Not panicking or anything, more curious to understand. I'll ask the gyno next time i see him, but until then, figured I'd ask the real experts :p

Hello Jess,
I dont really have an answer for you becuase I too have the same dilema. I've been on fibristal (Esmya equivalent in Canada) for five months now and fell like my uterus is getting bigger instead of shrinking. I was told i measured at 22wks also. The biggest fibroid is on my right side and I can actually feel it more now with certain movements - it wasnt like that before.
I assume fibristal is not working for me as my uterus have stayed the same, and I actually fear the fibroids have grown isntead of shrinking on this treatment. If anything, I just hope they stayed the same. I havent done a scan yet so it's hard to say, and I can only see my gyno in August. This was supposed to help shrink the fibroids before trying to concieve following a miscarraige which may/or may not have been caused by the fibroids. Eitherway, I think 5 months is enough time to see progess - which I havent seen, so, I've decided to quit the medication and start trying again soon. Hopefully, I will be lucky this time around - fingers crossed.
I am interested in what your gyno will, Jess, so please keep us updated.
Good luck to all of us!
