Hello all. I have been on this site for about 3 years and you guy's know how I feel about some of the procedure. Some may agree with me and some may not. Which is your right. But what has gotten me a little upset is some men do not research other procedures. They take the first thing that there urologist give them without checking or thinging about the side effects. You don't know if the procedure is going to work you just take the doctors word. Alot of doctors down play any of the side effect because they want you do have the surgery. Some men give up without a fight. If there scared or can't go to the bathroom or there bullied into a surgery by the doctor.which we know it happens. Don't rush. I feel a man should have any procedure that he want but look into it and others and make a discision on facts and information and then pick not take the first thing that comes along. I myself will not give up any function for another and be told my a doctor that I have to pick one over another just to pass urinate better I have had prostate and kidney infection, retenion, bleeding and bladder spasm. So I have had the pain of not going to the bathroom. But I never give in to that pain. I have had dry orgasms which sucks. Had to have emergency prostate surgery which I would not let the doctor touch me until he sign a paper that my prostate was to stay intact. It took 30 minutes buy he did. Life is to short to give up anthing in this world. I say many things but the main thing I hope for is that all men get all the information they can no matter what procedure they pick. Try a less invaseive procedure first before you go and have your prostate cut out because once that is done there is no going back. I have been dealing with alot heart and other issues. I concur 100% Ken. I think a lot of men just don't realize that options are
even out there until after they have something done and start having problems. Myself for example, I was just going through life on flowmax for nearly 15 yrs not even knowing let alone considering that procedures were even available, until 1 day I was in an airport and saw about 10 people carrying around their luggage and on their luggage and carry on's it said "Urolift the permanent cure for BPH" and boy I was on it! And 8 months later that what I got. And as we all know it helps but far from a permanent cure. However my point is that is what it took to get me going and now after a couple of uroligsts and this site I feel well educated enough to make a wise decision with any future treatments! And actually I was suppose to have a urodynamics done yesterday and opted out because I had told my Uro that since he suggested I start taking 2 Tamsulosin daily that my sex drive took a total nose dive and I was not producing hardly any semen I asked if Tamsulosin would be the cause and he said no, that they even use it on children, Then he asked if I would like a scrip for viagra and I said no.
i read up on the drug and knowing from this site that he was wrong, so figured I didn't want him making and suggestions with my health anymore.
and by the way went back to 1 a day and skip a day here and there and back to a great libido and production is back to 100%.
so I am with you Ken, information and education so you can make good choices!
