I have today, finally, received an apology and acceptance of liability from the NHS for the misplacement of the acetabular ceramic component of my THR.
It has only taken two and a half years !
Next, we have to agree a suitable amount of compensation ........ not holding my breath, but really I already have what I want, acceptance, apology and, despite what they did to me, a pain free hip !
Hope everyone is doing well
Graham

That's terrific, Graham! 🎉 Hope your cup holds out for a very long time, with no need for revision. Any compensation you receive will be icing on the cake! 🍰

Dear Graham
That's fantastic news, well done.
You're had more success than I have had with my claim for having been thrown onto the floor of the ambulance taking me home from the hospital following hip revision lady year.
Best wishes, Richard

Good news, well done. I wish you luck with stage two. As you say compensation would be nice but a pain free hip would be better.

As long as it stays pain free, but as it could collapse at a moment's notice (the surgeon's words), I still have no confidence in it.
I can almost guarantee that if it fails, I will be in the middle of a foreign holiday and would need an air ambulance back to Stanmore, Any compensation will have to be saved up in case of needing it in a very uncertain future.

Dear Graham
Yes I fully understand your apprehension about a sudden failure if you are out of the UK should your hip fail. I'm sure that you have the whole upsetting sequence of events very well documented just in case.
All the best from what looks like being a lovely hot day on the sunny IOW!
Cheers Richard
