Don't worry about going on its good to get it off your chest and talk to others that understand.
Its not very nice having pain all the while but like you say we have to carry on. I am the same age as you 54 and I also have two granddaughers. Its good you have a partner who is supportive. Not very nice for him at the moment with his mum and terminal cancer. I do know how he feels as just been through the same experience myself with my Dad having terminal cancer. He died just over a week ago and now going through the process of sorting his flat and waiting for the funeral. My aches and pains over the last couple of weeks have been a lot worse and feel this is due to the added stress with my Dad and also my daughter who has been in and out of hospital over the last couple of weeks.
Now it is me going on! I am sure Linda and Lizzy will come on and talk to us as well. We all try and support each other.
Come on again and join in our chat its not all about fibro!

we have all been there with our condition and dealing with cancer, my brother just passed with bone cancer, he was only 51, and left a young family, but we are there for them, as will your partner and you be there for one another and support your partners mother.
I had a tough time when I was dealing with fibro and having a double mastectomy done, it was hard, when your dealing with chronic pain and acute surgical pain, while having no energy at all, but we managed, by pacing myself and not being afraid to ask for help when getting in and out of bath or getting dressed and undressed in the evening, when you feel like a small child again and your friends and family have to undress you....
It is good that your partner is supportive to you, as so many people I have spoken to that have Fibro, their partner is like their GP - dont understand what the problem is, because we dont look unwell or in pain.,,
as was mentioned before we are all one big family on here. so come and have a natter with us, about anything and make us smile again.

Welcome to the fibro site. I'm liz I am 45 and have 4 children.
I was diagnosed with possible fibro about 16 months ago, I also have SLE and Sjogrens syndrome.
Having other conditions on top of fibro can make life very tiring.
How has your day been today.
Hi Tigger I hope you have had a good day too.
I have no idea how we are surpose to pace ourselves when we have families to look after.

Good to see you still on and chatting with us. I hope you have a lovely holiday in Devon. I have been there before and also cornwall some lovely views.
Went to Scotland for the first time in June this year and we were very lucky with the weather. Went for two weeks and only had a day and half of rain. Lots of lovely views there as well.
Where do you live Lin? I live in Whittlesey just outside Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. I have a son living in Nottingham and another son living in Manchester. Also have three daughters who all live in Whittlesey. Also my two granddaughters live in whittlesey so I am close to most of my family. I have got some brothers and sisters that live in Peterborough. Also my Dad use to live in Peterborough but sadly died on 18th July.
Just waiting for the funeral but it isn't until Friday 6th August.
Take care
