Took first dose last night at 1130pm. I experienced myself trying to catch a breath. I don't know if it was part of the anxiety, but I didn't panic over it' I kept saying it's just anxiety.
Also I only slept a couple hours if that, anyone else have these side effects?

Hello Elsa, I know you are feeling anxious, and the anxiety is through the roof right now, but this is normal, and you only just started on Cital. I am so sorry you have to go through this!! It may be a bit of a rough go in the next weeks ahead for you, and this is normal as well. I know, not what you wanted to hear, and I’m sorry for sure! I wish there was a fast magic cure for us all!! But try to think of it this way, it didn’t happen to us over night, to have this awful thing we have, so it is going to take a while to fix us.
In the next weeks you will start to feel better, but you may also feel like you have taken a step or 3 backwards, this is actually the meds working. You will start to feel the anxiety, and depression melt away, and return on and off...also the meds working. It takes a good 5-7 weeks before it really gets into your system, and some say it can take longer, before your body really adjusts to the meds. Everyone is different. But you WILL feel better. I think it is always good to stay in touch with your doctor during this time, to let them know how you are doing, this is very important. You and your doctor may find you need to go up on the meds at some point. (milligrams) I think at about 2-3 months, if you are still not feeling well, it might be time for a med change, as everyone is different, what is good for some, might not work for others. But, you really need to give Cital a chance to work. And remember, changing meds is not always the answer, as you will have to start all over, and going through the same things as you do with this med. Also, you can not just stop taking these meds, it must be done with your doctor, and slowly, as it can really mess your whole system up! These meds are serious meds, and you must be very careful with them.
I have been on Cital 20 mg for 3 years, and it is normal to still have what I call, an off day...some call them a blip, but now I know what it is, how to handle it, and they don’t last long, almost always gone within 24 hours or less. It has worked very well for me. I feel so much better!! My doctor told me to take it before bed with a little food, as I had awful time sleeping!! I didn’t have the problems some have had during the daytime. A friend of mine also takes Cital, and her doctor also told her to take it at night, she too has not had a problem, she too had a awful time sleeping, and she had to be up very early, as she is a school teacher, so she had to be on her A game! LOL But, like I said, everyone is different...so I leave that one up to you. I sleep much better, but when I get that darn mind racing...my mind won’t shut off, nothing helps...so I know what you go through. It never used to fail...I would lay there all darn night, then about an hour before the alarm went off...of course, that’s when I would fall asleep!
I think if you can hang in there, and give the Cital a chance to work, you will be feeling much better soon! And we are here for you when ever you have a question, or need someone to talk/vent to, that is what we are here for! There are a lot of wonderful people on here, with a lot of great advice to help us through. No one judges us, as we all have gone through, or are going through things right along with each other. I know I am so glad I found this forum, it has helped me a great deal!! I wish you good luck!! In the mean time, I send you a BIG {{{HUG}}} as we all can use those!!!!
