First ever hemorrhoid - should I see the doctor?

So I'm 21 and never had a hemorrhoid before - I'm assuming I got it due to genetics, because my dad had them all the time, and every website I've looked at said that's a huge contributing factor. I'm studying in London for the summer, so I've been doing my best to ignore it in hopes that it will go away (been using lots of preperation H, ibuprofen and cold water bottles on it to make the swelling go down). It's been about a week, and it's still there. Every website I've looked at says I should go to a doctor after a week, and the pain has done nothing but get worse. The whole week it's just looked like a swollen bruise, but now it has a head like a pimple, and I think that's why it's more painful.

To get to the point - should I go to urgent care now? Or should I continue to wait it out? Because I'm not at home, I want to ignore it and keep exploring this cool city, but the pain is so unbearable. I just don't want it to intrude on the plans that I have, because I'm trying to enjoy my time in this city and see and do everything.

Thanks!

As it appears to be so painful If I'd get it checked out as soon as possible if it was me. I'm not medically trained but it does sound like a haemorrhoid. Some painful haemorrhoids can have a blood clot in which case you need to see a doctor straight away. As I said, I'm not medically trained, but I doubt that a visit to the dcotor would disrupt your immediate travel plans much but it might provide relief and reassurance.

    Good luck.

This is not pimple on that area. Look like you're facing an anal fissure.

An anal fissure may cause one or more of the following symptoms:

a visible tear in the skin around your anusa skin tag, or small lump of skin, next to the tearsharp pain in the anal area during bowel movementsstreaks of blood on stools or on tissue paper after wipingburning or itching in the anal area.

Wait another 3weeks if it doesn't go away that pimple u must see a specialist.

    Also you're facing haemorrhoid..

Go to a doctor. They will prescribe you some steroid cream that will help shrink your haem. Do not ignore your painful condition. A doctor will help you with advice on how to shrink it. It sounds as if it is thrombosed. Also

Go to a doctor. They will prescribe you some steroid cream that will help shrink your haem. Do not ignore your painful condition. A doctor will help you with advice on how to shrink it. It sounds as if it is thrombosed. Also make sure you don't get constipated. Don't be embarrassed about going for medical help its just a bit of your body and doctors have seen it all many times. Better to get this sorted now than leave it. If you can put a few frozen peas in a bag and put that in it for about 15 mins it will help. Do it often it will reduce the swellin g. Most important of all get some help. Poor you, I wish you well.

THe soonoer you get to the doctors, the sooner it will be sorted and the less severe the problem will be. Doctors see this type of thing all the time and they will be able to reassure you as to what's going on.

    Good luck!
