First Genital Herpes Outbreak... feeling scared and incredibly sore

Last week I got diagnosed with Genital Herpes. I had felt some slight discomfort around Monday and Tuesday and thought I was getting a UTI. Went to the doctor on Thurs and they told me I had herpes and gave me some codeine for the pain. Needless to say, the blisters and pain got much much worse and codeine did nothing.
By Saturday night was having panic attacks and just sobbing in pain, awake all night and not able to pee. Went to emergency clinic on Sunday and was given some Vaclovir to take twice daily for five days and some Lignocaine Gel.
The gel seems to slightly numb the pain but peeing is still excruciating and I'm still in tears with pain most of the time.
Is there anything anyone can recommend to help me get over this quicker and ease the pain. I've had to take time off work and have practically been bed ridden.
It is by far the worst pain I have ever felt in my life.
I am just so embarrassed as well. I'm only 17 and my parents didn't know I was sexually active. I haven't told the person I am with yet that I have got herpes for fear of rejection, I just feel so disgusting and repulsive. They are the only person I have ever been with so could only have got it from them.
I feel like it is all my fault and now I have to deal with this for the rest of my life

Just take all your medication I'm sorry that you're going through that have such an early age I guess it'll get better over time and good luck with everything

Confirm which type you have. gHSV1 is rarely an issue or transmission risk after the first outbreak, so if that's what you have, you needn't worry too much.
