This past week i came down with cold/chest infection been really run down and ill with it. then noticed I felt sore down below when on toilet. previous to this I've had fissure like cuts down below so just thought it was one of them again. checked in mirror. Two bumps like spots were there, closer look a couple of tiny bumps next to them. Blisters. now I'm left with a big ulcer. I haven't been to get swabbed I know they are herpes. I'm on day 4 or 5 now. my question is.. I've been in two longer term relationships. one for 6 years . and my most recent 7 years. not once in my life have I ever had herpes or any kind of outbreak on genitals. how could this of happened? my past partner was 100% faithful and my current partner the same. I'm devastated

HSV can lie dormant for years. Go get swabbed while the spots are still there. swab is much better than bloodwork test if you do some research it will explain why. you can also get meds to help with symptoms and prevent spread.

i just went to the dr and am waiting on swab results but like you i know its HSV and the dr thought so too. my outbreak is so bad 😦((
