ok so a few weeks ago i went to see my dentist as a new paitent which i have to do every year my insurrance requires it as they need prior auth before any work is done hence full set of xrays and the usual. any how after the xrays the dentist said i needed a deep cleaning which i have never had before. being a person with not only a dental phobia but also a severe anxiety disorder i have a few questions
#1 what can i expect with a deep cleaning? will i feel any pain during and after the procedure? is it a difficuly procedure what else should i know to help ease my anxiety and fear about said procedure
#2 how long will or can this procedure take
#3 will i have to go back or will this be done in one visit?

Deep Cleaning is just that .. it goes below the gums ... so there can be bleeding and slight bacteremia .
IS your dentist planning on doing the whole mouth deep cleaning in one visit ?
Some do it in 2 visits.

I've had deep cleans done in the past and got a local anaesthetic when it was done so didn't feel anything while it was being done. It's just like a normal clean but deeper. You might taste a bit blood and your mouth might be a bit sore for about a week afterwards but if you take painkillers it's not too bad.
