Hello, just a wee update from bonny Scotland........

day 34 already, does'nt seem long since I started this journey, where has the time gone? They say time goes by quickly when you're enjoing yourself, but I cannot say I've really enjoyed the trip as such. Today has been an okay day not as settled as yesterday though, guess we have good and less good days? Do'nt like to put "bad days" in case I jinx myself! My headache is never far away, and they are starting to pee me off, stress and worries probably at the root of them. Oh how I wish I could learn to relax instead of being wound up all the time, yes I know yoga etc is helpful but it's just not available where I live sadly, a price that's paid for living in the peace and tranquility of a remote coastal location. Do I moan too much? Guess I do, sorry. Caio til the next time......

Hello again David, nice to hear from you again. Not so nice that you are still suffering with the nausea, I've been so damn lucky with that aspect, just the odd sick feeling but no retching thank god. Is there nothing they can give to help with that David? I'm taking a tablet called Cinnarizine for this inner ear thing just now and one of its properties is treatment for motion sickness, and you mention your ears giving problems, just a thought. (I think you can even buy this over the counter in the chemist without prescription as it's basically an antihistamine) Hope you get that good nights sleep too, we all need our beauty sleep wink caio for now, take care

Remote Scotland sounds very tranquil :-)

Yes there are definitely up days and 'not so up' days.  The not so up ones get less as time goes by, and equally get not so intense.  Always 3 steps forward and 2 back.

Are you taking painkillers for the headaches?  Could be tension as you say.  How about a long walk - get some fresh air and a bit of exercise.

No, of course you don't moan too much.  Talking is good, and your reports are very readable :-)  :-) :-)

Hiya Kate, yes remote Scotland is really nice in so many ways, after 20+ years in a city it was amazing transformation, the first noticable one was the sound of silence, I can hear a mouse fart 5 miles away its so quiet at night, and no street lights means a clear star filled sky if I'm lucky, shooting stars, perhaps a glimpse of the Aureara Borealis, spelling a wee bit suspect there ha! No I try and avoid painkillers Kate where possible, just the odd paracetamol when it's really bad. And you are so 100% right about the fresh air and exercise and I'm so annoyed that I'm not getting nearly enough, my "problem" once again is house location, I can only walk half mile in either direction before hitting the main A9 road which is far too narrow and dangerous to walk, I've tried, scarey!! So to get for a half decent walk involves driving a few miles in either direction to a bit of coast suitable for walking, with limited daylight way up here at this time of year I have'nt done near as much as I'd like sad but things are changing albeit slowly. Hey I'm glad you like to read my reports hahaha, mad as the proverbial box of frogs that's me wink smile

I love the quiet - camping holidays I've always enjoyed as we've been to great quiet places, no light pollution and as you say you can see the stars brilliantly. How fab to see the Aureara B (not attempting to spell it) .... my friend went to Iceland hoping to see it, but didn't.

Thats a shame you're trapped from waking by the main road, and of course daylight. Forget that happens further North.

Yes it's been interesting reading your progress ..... you seem brighter.

Oh .... poor lil mouse by the way biggrin

    Hi david

No you dont moan too much, just say what youre feeling n thats fine :-) poor you headaches sound grim, not had those myself touch wood. You've probably tried long ago but my friends swears by rescue remedy - or am I telling grandma how to suck eggs? ??? If not may be worth a go.

Hope the good days become more frequent n the not so good start to disappear soon.

    Take care

    Vix

Ps did you ever order a light box? I still haven't tried one. .....

      Hi david

She uses the standard onw called "rescue remedy" drops/spray you get from boots, etc. Promoted for anxiety but she reckons helps her when she gets stress related headaches. Like I say might be useless but worth trying?

Some sad lamps on amazon, 50-60 £ getting good reviews. ...... think I may invest.

Tho natural daylight is the best, maybe we should all get a break in the sun as part of treatment,  would prob go a long way to help! Oooh wouldnt that be nice :-)

      Ttfn

oh hell yeah a break in the sun would go down a treat right now Vix, if only! I've only been abroad once and did'nt want to come back here, a small island near Malta called Gozo, it was paradise to me, I thought the heat would affect my asthma, ie make it worse, but on the contrary I did'nt use an inhaler all the time I was there, I was amazed, and fell in love with the place, big sigh sad right I'm going to check out the sad lamps in a wee minute. And next time I'm in Boots I'll check out that spray thankyou...... adios amigo smile
