    Hello Missi

I'm on flu and have been since Jan 09. Give them time and yourself, don't visit your friend until you feel ready, walking, housework chatting on the phone and reading are good ways to distract your mind from how you feel or see yourself. As for work and your Boss, please don't feel guilty, work and your Boss can wait, you are important and getting your confidence back to cope with home situations is enough for you at the moment, don't let work hassle you, you and your Doctor will know when you can start work again, flu is not an overnight cure, we all heal in our own time.

Take care and stop thinking about work/Boss, get yourself well work can wait.

    Kind Regards

    Hi Nicky,

Cheerz 4 the reply, feeling no bad today. I think things are getting a bit easier although it is hard not to worry about things that u wouldnt worry about. Yeh I get shakey hands especially when I have a ciggarette, and i still feel sick and headachy at times. I found drinking loads of water helps, bt as i said only 6 and half wks in. I still panic when Im out the house at times too. I see u r from glasgow. I am in tillicoultry.

    Hi Nicki and Missi

Been a while since i've posted on the general forum too. I know what you mean Nicki re the shakes. I still get them from time to time. Not so bad re headaches now. Weird dreams are back with avengance although sleep has improved greatly.

Just had another setback - losing what i thought was a good friend. She is a fellow sufferer and cannot handle our friendship. She told me by text which is a bit spineless although she has deep issues and probably couldn't tell me to my face. Thought i could handle the rejection but it has hit me like a train today.

Oh well, i can get through this with the help of the meds and the pro's.

Hope you have both had a reasonable day today.

I find that this forum has gone a bit quiet of late. That could be a good thing if everyone is fighting and winning.

    Best wishes to you both

Re Flu side effets. I was on Flu about 3 years ago when I went thru a very stressful period. it seemed to work ok and I have been put on it again after getting anxiety and OCD. After about 3 days my anxiety went into overdrive!! After a holiday weekend I had myself convinced that I was going to lose my job!! Today is first day back. Whew, got that over. PPl at work being really good about things, so feel a bit better. Am just concerned that my concentration levels are so bad, as I work mainly on my own initiative, I will be completely useless!!! Work colleagues are being so helpful. Having been thru this before I KNOW it will get better, it just seems like it never will. Does anyone else feel as if they are only kind of half living?? I find it hard to join in and feel really out of place all the time. I also feel people are judging me all the time and are being hyper critical, but that is maybe just my projection of the anxiety??? Anyway, it was great to find a site that has ppl on here that understand. I feel as if I should know better, but it is soooo difficult when the anxiety takes hold. Other symptoms I have had increased for now is sweating/freezing, shaking, yawning, increased heart rate. very tired but unable to sleep. Doc says to persevere for another couple of weeks to let it settle down. Halp!! :?

Yeh totally everything you r experiencing is quite normal for side effects of fluoxetine. Just hang on to the thought that they worked b4. I too, have been on them b4 and they workd 4 me to. I am nearly 7 wks in and must admit that I am beginning to feel I am a bit better. Well done for being back at work. I aint done that yet! I too felt that people I work with might criticise me, but most have been if anything supportive! It just feels like you r never goni b yourself again but you will. Take it easy now.

    Hi missi

Sos i didn't reply yesterday. The days are slowly getting better thanks. Had a pint tonight - only allow myself one a week as too many can counteract the meds.

Have you had a reasonable day?

    Best wishes xx

    hi meganpooch

Glad you are feeling better now. Having a rubbish day today although managed to get out a while. Headache is awful today and taking the correct dose of paracetemol makes me queesy with fluoxetine! I used to love a glass of red wine with my tea at night but its a no go at the moment! Take care

    Hi missi

I know what you mean re the headaches and nausea sickness. I used to get a lot of them as a side effect.

A couple of things i tried which are drug free - cos flu is enough in itself - are

    1) That 4Head stick pain relief. It's quite expensive but worked on my nausea today.

    2) A drink that has a good measure of ginger in it. There are some teas on the market but avoid the ones with lemon also. Ginger is good for nausea. I'm speaking from experience.

While i'm on a roll i've thought of a couple of other things. Are you taking a vitamin B12 supplement? An ex-sufferer told me this is essential.

Also to cope with what the drugs do to your stomach (think i have Irritable Bowel Syndrome too) i have found a very good and powerful probiotic from a company called Decta Probiotics. You can order online and usually its next day delivery.

I really hope your headache/sickness goes soon and you have a good weekend.

    Best wishes. x

    Hi Meganpooch,

How woz ur wkend? Thanx 4 the tip bout the ginger, I dont like those teas but bought some ginger beer hoping that may help!!! I take vit b complex and vitamin c and omega 3 fish oil, the fish oil is supposed to

help our condition also! I read (Healing without prozac) I think it was called and a patient suffering anxiety cured himself taking omega 3 and exercise by spinning! ie exercise bike, they call it spinning in america.

Bn at docs today and was soooo nervous but done it. More time off work and keep on the tablets. Because of the anxiety attacks its sooo scarey to go out but am getting better. Made it to tesco on sunday with help!

How sad am I lol!!!! Hope your ok and cheerz 4 the advice.

    Hi Missi

Weekend was passable thanks. Went to Boots to get some Olbas Oil on Sat and it leaked everywhere. Have an Olbas Oil scented car even now after a lot of Oust.

Back, which is troublesome anyway, has been playing up again so sleep is more disturbed than usual. Still, we all have our crosses to bear - musn't complain.

My 4 year old car has just failed its MOT today so more money to find now.

You seem to have all remedies/help covered.

When i remember i take flaxseed oil for my Omega intake.

I know what you mean re the teas. Had a new one today - ginger is all that it has in it - looked like a sample for the doctor lol and the taste wasn't much but heho i just take it like another medicine.

Good for you for getting to the docs. I have anxiety but not to the extent i find it difficult to go out. Well done.

    Best wishes. xx
