Following a cycle?

Posted , 4 users are following.

Hi ladies hope you are all keeping well. I've been taking Tibolone for about 6 weeks which has eased some symptoms but after a few days of feeling quite well I then start getting a run of days where I'm quite off, lightheaded(woozy) strange scary body sensations, hot & flushed & just not feeling right...it then passes & I have another round of good days then it's off again...is this normal for symptoms to follow a cyclical pattern? I've had no periods for about thirteen months, so I guess I'm just new at entering menopause & it'll be a while for all this to settle. Will this 'cycle' stop?, I've thought too that maybe I need to give the Tibolone more time to fully take effect which I've read can be three months.

All the best

    I haven't stopped seeing my periods yet but I am in peri because of the symptoms. I was told by one practitioner that once we've stopped seeing our periods, we'll still get those symptoms but they won't be as strong or as frequent once the hormones settle. My mom is 84 and she gets a few symptoms every now and again. So I don't think we're ever completely symptom-free. It just eases up, I think. Then again everyone is different.

    I think NuttyNan that you may need to give it a bit longer and see how it is after the three months.

    I have had horrible vaginal dryness. It was better a couple of days then back to horrible for a few more then OK again a few days.

    I was thinking I may go back to the doctor but it's now been fine for a week now so could be the same with your symptoms.

    My GP did say if you are going to have problems with HRT it can show up within two weeks but it can take up to 3 months to improve some symptoms.

      Hi, thanks for replying. How are you? Did you get to see your Dr, hope all is well. As I replied in a previous post...I'm impatient for all this end! LoL I'll keep taking Tibolone & make the most of days where I'm feeling ok, do hope these low blood sugar moments I get will subside with everything else too. To better days....

      Take Care

    Hi, NuttyNan;

    really interested in your thread as I've had problems too.

    started tibolone in mid-august and since then I've had three "turns (aug,sept,nov) which start with severe headaches/nausea,dizziness and loss of balance and weakness in my legs so that at first I could hardly walk or stand for any time but even when this wears off after a couple of weeks I'm left with head and neck ache,pressure in my head and something like travel sickness and I can't walk or do anything as much as I could do before without getting exhausted/breathless.

    Have gone back to the gp who gave me tibolone but he didn't know what was wrong with me.

    To cut a long story short,I've stopped taking hrt just in case..and yes, the hot flushes and moods are coming back !

    Scared I was having a stroke or something serious; now waiting to see if normal life returns.

    Hope all ends well for you, feel trapped between a rock and a hard place.
