Sore throat and extreme fatigue. The medication also contributes to the fatigue. It's a crappy virus to live with. I was diagnosed with hsv2.

They appeared as the sore throat was going away. I had sore throat for about a week.

how long did you have symptoms before breakout?

I would say maybe 3-4 days. During my chills & fever stage I felt pain but I thought maybe it was a tear or something until I checked & I noticed an ulcer on my perineum, but I still was in denial. Over the next few days I started to develop ulcers on my vagina lips & that's when it dawned on me.

Unfortunately I have both hsv 1 &2. I haven't ever had an hsv 1 outbreak but I did test positive through a blood test. But before I would have an hsv2 outbreak my left butt cheek would hurt then I would feel the area where my outbreaks occurred start to itch but other than that I didn't have many symptoms.

Before I noticed any blisters, I thought I just had the flu because I had flu like symptoms or just a really bad cold to say the least. I also thought I had a really bad yeast infection (I got them multiple times a year prior to HSV). I also had like a shooting nerve pain in my legs. The blisters started to appear as the "flu" started to fade away. Sadly I still brushed it off because it started as one which looked like an ingrown hair, then over the next couple of days they multiplied drastically
