Freezing cold in August. I this normal ?

Hello ladies. Today i have been getting moments of feeling ice cold to the point where i have to cover with comforters. I never had a hot flash and wondering if feeling cold is a part of peri and meno ? Other symptoms are closing of the throat and hard to swallow. Also bad anxiety. Today has been just awful. Its only 10 pm and i think its going to be a very long night.

Yes, I am covered up and have a thick fuzzy robe on and I live in Florida! I am either freezing roasting. I haven't really had hot flashes in a long time. I am post menopause almost 2 years. But I think it is definitely a part of the hormone yo yo whether it be peri, meno, or post.

I have given up caffeine and take chelated magnesium which I think helps anxiety.

One of the bad things about anxiety is it feeds off of itself then amplifies other symptom making them feel worse.

I feel for you. Chamomile tea or pills can help with anxiety.

Keljo thank you for your reply. So i guess i am not alone. If you can be in Florida wearing a thick fuzzy robe says it all. I live in Montreal Canada and the summers here cannot compete with Floridas heat. I took your advice this morning and drank some chamomile tea which is calming my nerves, so much to the point where i feel like i need a well deserved nap. Once again thank you

2chr2015 thank you for your reply. It feels good to know that i am not alone. Last night did scare me thinking that something maybe wrong with me. But i quess it is just another symptom to add to my list. It has left me, hoping that it never returns. Wishing you a great day.

    Hi Sally,

    How did your night go?

I had my normal night sweats overnight.

It's morning now, and I'm in the recliner with a sweater on top and a blanket on my legs (working, so can't stay long, just popped in to say you're not alone).

It's cooler here than it has been (65 degrees F), but I feel like it's 45 degrees.

There is a lady in my Moms church who is well post-meno and she wears coats all year round. I take heart in knowing if she can make it through all this nonsense for so long, then it is possible, and I hope to find my way to do the same.

Some ladies just get the colds instead of the hots, I guess.

Hi Sara. My night was awful. Insomnia, anxiety and feeling ice cold made it just awful. I took some chamomile tea suggested by Keljo and it had helped to calm me. I will be taking a nap soon, hoping to sleep for a hr or 2. This peri and meno train is a crazy ride filled with so many emotions but so grateful that i have you wonderful ladies. Thanks again for your concern. Have such a great day.
