From sertraline back to paroxatine

Hi all I was on sertraline for 9wks . But they really didn’t do anything for me. So the doctor stopped them and put me back on paroxatine. I’ve been on 20mgs for 2wks. And for the last 8days I’ve been bk on 30mgs. But 2day I’m feeling really anxious, shaky and feeling really sick. So I rang the doctor and he’s told me to go back down to 20mgs. And to go back to him nxt Monday for a review. Any advice or reassurance please

Hi Debra, it’s probably just the increase in dosage that’s making you feel that way...do as the doc says and after a few days you should settle....I just decreased my dosage of Sertraline from 50 to 25 day 5 now and feeling better ...hope you feel better soon

I’ve not upped yet. I started on 50mg almost 3 weeks ago.  I was rattling and very anxious so after 2 weeks decided to reduce it to 25. I was supposed to increase it to 100 but as I hadn’t stabilised on the 50 felt the 100 would be way too much and would make me feel even worse.  Wasn’t sure at the time if this was the right thing to do or not but seems to have worked...i’ll Stick at 25 for now but expect eventually will need to up to 50, no doubt the side effects will kick in for a week or two whilst my body adjusts 😊
