Frustrated

Hi my lovely Fibro warriors, does anyone have problems with their doctors. Regardless of what I’m suffering from all my gp says is ...it’s probably your fibromyalgia I could go in with my arm missing and my doctor would say it’s because of my fibromyalgia. They don’t even bother to check for other things very frustrating!! 🤔

Know how you feel my doctors surgery is useless got diagnosed with Fibromyalgia through msk got recommended a certian medication to help me with it and they wont even give me it. Most doctors don't even care these days all you are to them is another person to get out of the room for the next one to get in and out as quick as possible

No you are not alone, I thought it was only me.  I am now at a point with my meds that I have become reliant, I have told my GP that considering she was the one that increased the codeine now I'm addicted to my pain meds and it scares me that no medical profession is doing nothing to support me.  Every visit to the GP is the same like you, it's your fibro, it's connected to your fibro.  I've now got to a point where I don't waste my time and looking at self help.  I'm trying to ween off the meds but struggling but hopefully will get sorted, my stress levels are reducing so that has helped.

    You are not alone there

I am having the same problem my legs keep giving way and all my doctor says its normal and i cant find anywhere that your legs giving way is because of fibromyalgia but when i bring this up he says trust him im waiting for an appointment with my rheumatologist to ask her

My legs feel like they're going to give way a lot too. Not sure if it's fibromyalgia tho as I haven't as yet got a diagnosis. I feel like my doctor thinks it's all in my mind

My legs often give way too along with my balance I have now gone to see a chiropractor doctor and he has helped loads might be worth for you to look into as they treat fibromyalgia which they believe is connected to your central nervous system 😊

    Hi All,

I’m not defending the GPs but with fibromyalgia there are so many different symptoms that they don’t know what it is. I went to my rheumi consultant and he was a locum , although very thorougher he explained that i need to pace myself which I am doing  he prescribed lots of vitamins so I’m just hoping the medication works.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic chronic illness  we  just need to learn to listen to our bodies. Best wishes.

Yes that would be frustrating. I haven’t had that problem but I am moving to a different state so will have to get a new doctor. I just hope he will agree with the meds that my old doctor has me on. I’m just happy that now doctors  do at least believe all the pain we have with fibro.

Mine is even worse.. my family doctor doesn't believe in fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed 2 years ago by an expert, been suffering for almost 7... and she keeps on sending me to do tests for RA.. they keep returning negative and the rest of my blood tests are always excellent.. she doesn't have a clue. Oh and she keeps on saying that it's probably stress rolleyes totally ignores my pain. I had to beg her for some pain killers. So unfortunately you're not alone.

Yes, just change your doctor....I only see a specialist for my Fibro...most doctors are just not well informed enough like we are, it’s our concentration. I took my health into my own hands and just don’t let it happen anymore..be blessed Noahsnan...hope Noah is going great too as mine , be blessed and have a lovely day..😍😍🙏🙏
