Hi Everyone,
I posted on here before but wanted to reach out again to see if anyone else has experienced this. I had my gallbladder out almost 4 months ago and have been sick since with an array of symptoms. It's not been an easy road as I know it hasn't for many of us on here. My big concern lately is I've started to have constant pain on my right side where my ribs are that goes across my abdomen and to the left sometimes. It's very painful and will not go away, it is constant and its been 3 weeks straight of this. I'm getting worried something is really wrong. Has anyone else developed this type of constant pain months after surgery and any suggestions on what could cause it?

Hi Johnette,
Have you been in touch with the hospital where you had your operation? Phone them up for an appointment or go and see your GP and ask them about it.
It sounds like you need further tests and a thorough investigation of this.
Are you taking any painkillers or other medication?
Are you eating a completely normal diet?
I've read a little about life after a cholecystectomy and it seems one might be wise to stick to a very low fat diet whilst ones body adjusts to the removal of the gall bladder.
However, pain is an indication that something isn't right so you should seek professional advice.
I do hope things get better for you soon.
Good Luck and please let us know how you get on.
Kind regards
Jane
