Hi,

Don't know if anyone else in the same situation..? I had my gallbladder removed 2years ago..went well..was fine for ages..other than a few gripes etc..and then chronic pain attacks started in August.. I am not drinking alcohol and eating well..I have had every liver scan, mri, ct scans going, endoscopies etc etc and now as the specialist said in the group of the unknown..and last week was told there is nothing they can do..just to see the chronic pain team..and hopefully stop me having to go into hospital :-( on amitriptyline..and other meds for gastro..mebeverine etc and now as I have a stomach ulcer meds for that :-/ I get such bad pain I have ended up in hospital so many times with Mortimer and codeine. See my surgeon again Friday, hoping he can try summit new!! Though was advised that getting pregnant again could help!?! But scared to do so, though delayed it for 2 years now ::-( I know I'm not alone, but has anyone tried anything they have found helps? ..any advice appreciated!! thank you x

Feel for you, my GALLBLADDER removed last September. Ever since get niggles etc.

By the info have read up on its possible to get recurring feelings. My Dr. Second it's my diverticulitis, but know the difference. But can cope with this compared to the pain used to get. Pain free would be better.

How the hell can getting pregnant sort out your gallbladder problems?

I said the same thing! The specialist said delaying having another child may not be wise..he said in some cases it has stopped the reoccurring pain..for unknown reasons..?! I don't have a gallbladder anymore..have no idea how it would beneficial. A surgeon told me that he had heard it had stopped people's chronic pain to..wonder if it's because your insides get all moved about (gallbladder problems and gallstones is more likely to occur in women who have had children..) read about organ repair is higher in pregnancy..due to new cell growth. Delayed having a 2nd child for years now.

aaah! oh well, you learn something new every day!

you could also try aloe vera juice as it promotes new cell growth. It would take time but it is so beneficial anyway.

I'm so sorry to hear you are having pain so long after your surgery.  It really does sound nuts for a doctor to tell you getting pregnant would help.  That's great if you want a baby, but kinda silly advice if you're not wanting a child.  I've never been pregnant, but it sounds like one's body goes thru enough stress without dealing with existing abdominal pain.  I hope the pain specialists can help.  Don't know if it's available to you, but some people in chronic pain swear by meditation and/or accupuncture.  I hope you find some relief soon!
