So I've had my surgery done... And I know for the first few days I have to keep to a light soup diet but... I'm wondering after that... what foods can I or can't I eat ?

Stay away from greasy foods, fried , for awhile.Keep it light, baked, soups just for about a month. Then you can venture and you will know what you can tolerate. Good luck to you!! Β lol

Well abby I just had my surgery done as well and I came home yesterday they told me I can have normal foods I just can't have fatty foods bcuz my gallbladder wad the one to do the job to separate the fats from the health stuff so you can't eat anything fat and I had the laproscopic op myself ( my spelling might be wrong I'm sure you understand) but I'm a bit sore from it bcuz they take and put holes in your stomach and then they blow your slab up with air so they can see inside to remove the gallbladder but it wad not a bad surgery my first surgery and I came out by the grace of God 100% great even though I am hurting I have meds for that so I'm ok STAY AWAY FROM FATTY FOODS! ! ! ! But ready as much as your body will allow that's what I wad told bcuz I don't have much of an apatite I know it will come back though and being around the house and stuff is not so easy but I'm making dueπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡ you will be just fine sweetie don't let it hold you back keep on pushing young lady

I am waiting to have my gallbladder out. I have spoken to quite a few people who have had this operation. Some say they can go back to eating whatever they like, others say they have to stick to low fat diet for the rest of their lives. My GP said I could go back to eating what I like.

This is obviously different for different people and is just a question of trial and error.

I would be interested to hear what you find you can and cannot eat.

I am on a low fat diet and the hardest thing for me is not being able to have hard cheese. I knew that would be the case. .
