Hi Carol, that is great news, I hope it all goes well for you and that you can truly start enjoying life again. I too am seeing my surgeon tonight and hopefully I can get a result too, I don't want surgery but I do want to be rid of these endless symptoms that have blighted and taken over my life since the new year. Good luck and do let us know how it all works out.

I know, I was up and down from work too. Its really disruptive but at least you've got an end in sight and you can regain your life back again.
As Lynda said make sure that you get plenty of rest afterwards, it does take longer than you think to recover, so take as much time off of work as you can.
xx

Hi Carol,
Well, that's good news. The surgery and recovery usually go smoothly. Don't forget that though the incisions are small, you will need time to heal externally and internally--it's still major surgery.
Most people recover and do really well afterwards! Please let us know how you get on! xx

Of course you're anxious! I was so miserable with my gallbladder that I couldn't wait to get it out. I was nervous, of course, but pretty calm. I knew what the problem was all along--I had to convince a surgeon to remove it.
When he took it out, it was filled with sludge and small stones. But not much was being imaged by the ultrasound, so it didn't look as bad as it actually was.
Please let us know when you get your date! xx

I had mine out in February. Best thing I ever did!! I suffered terrible with gall bladder pain for over a year then from August last year it got worse. I was nervous about the surgery but it went well. I have to admit I was more sore than I expected afterwards I think I underestimated how sore it would be. But after a week or so I was almost back to normal. My incision scars still nip now and again but compared to having the gall bladder pain it's nothing! I did find ( and have heard lots say the same thing) loose bowels are a problem for a while. Everything I ate came out the other end very quickly so try and keep to low fat for a few weeks. Hope it all goes well for you.x

Yeah it really is awful. I think I had gall bladder problems for a lot of years but just wrote it off as other things. Indigestion, ibs etc. Until I was hospitalised with the pain last summer, actually thought I was dying lol. The discomfort of the op is definitely worth it. I'm 10 weeks in now and the difference is unreal. The constant uncomfortable feeling is gone. No more excruciating flare ups.

It will be worth it though.not going to lie! Yes I'd be prepared for at least a week of soreness and then another few weeks to get back to normal properly but once it's out the difference is amazing
