so the same rate of tranmissions as one another or because its genital does it pose a higher risk of shreddind? thank hou

No. If you got type 1 down there it is less likely to shred than if you got in on the mouth because it is not an "environment" that type 1 thrives in. Type 2 is more likely to shred down there than if you have type 2 on the mouth

HSV2 genital viral shedding is about 5-10% of days. HSV2 rarely effects the mouth!

HSV1 genital is said to be 5-7%. of days. Orally it is a little higher.

Saying that the virus effects everyone differently. Some people with HSV1 genitally have more severe outbreaks then HSV2. If you have HSV1 and having frequent outbreak your viral shedding will be higher. HSV1 is also becoming more prevalent genitally so eventually the strain will get stronger.

It is all just a guessing game as there is very few viral shedding tests and you will never know when you are shedding so are still just as high a risk of transmitting during shedding.

By using condoms, daily antivirals and knowing your body you can decrease shedding by 45-70% depending what studies you read.

Thank you great information. unfortunatley my doctor wouldnt allow me to take antivrials everydsy as i have only had 1 outbreak. however i have started taking lysine to hopefully reduce the viral shredding 😃

yeah no the risk of transmission definitely isnt equally likely. genital to genital passing of type 1 is very rare. its more likely to give someone genital type 1 if you have oral thpe 1 and give them genitally

give them oral sex i mean*

its your body and you are lowering the risk of transmisson by taking them!

hopefully you wont have any more then that. there is lots of info on the std project 😃

Thank you so much - do you know if its likely to pass hsv1 on if i have it genitally and someone gives me oral sex like me passing it to their mouth

very very very rare. nearly impossible . someone would have to put their mouth on your sores during an outbreak but that doesnt usually happen. and even when someone does put their mouths on sores, most std's dont pass from genital to mouth as frequently. especially herpes

I've heard this and want to believe it, but can you point me to a study that shows the low rate risk of transmission for GHSV-1? I've searched high and low, but can't find something that discusses this other than idle chat on these forums.
