Gerd or something else please help!

Hi all, i am a 22yr old male, 

For the past year i have been experiencing pain between the shoulder blades and left side chest and rib pain and flu like symptoms.. sore throat, fevers, headaches and what not. I burp alot and always feel gassy, have difficulties swallowing and breathing. Recurring throat viruses. 

Could this all be gerd related? I do get acid reflux frequently. 

Have had a full heart check- echocardiogram, stress test, Holter monitors and countless ecg’s

Chest xrays and ct scans of the chest, neck, abdomen and pelvis all normal aswell as multiple blood work which is also normal. 

Anyone please help this is ruining my life

    Hi there,  I can totally relate.  I have had so many tests these past few months it's exhausting.  I had all the heart tests you mentioned, a back x-ray...and ultra sound on all upper organs.  Everything there has been ruled out...so next step is a braium swallow testing for me...this test is supposed to show if there is any evidence of acid reflux, as well as an x-ray of the stomach.....I am not looking forward to it, as you have to drink barium, which I have never had before, but I have heard from a few people it tastes horrid....I try not to listen to everyone's negative stories, but also have to be aware it may not go well.  I will be glad when this one is over with as my anxiety waiting on it is making all my symptoms worse, however I opted for this over the endoscopy.  At the moment I am eating smaller meals, drinking more water, taking probiotics and digestive enzymes and it helps a bit....I feel less pains, but do still get acid feel in my throat and sometimes a lump feeling in my throat.....Are you taking anything for it?

      Hi there linda and thanks for the reply, sorry to hear your going through this aswell! It sucks doesnt it. I was taking nexium but felt like it wasnt helping and it isnt good for you so i stopped taking it. I havnt had a barium xray yet but i think that might be what i ask for next as i wait to see an ENT specialist and a rheumatologist
