Get tested!

What an annoying breakout I had in the creases of my legs....I really should not have "relied" on the internet, it became my worst enemy.

I was quick to assume it was herpes by whatbis read and pictures I saw. Went and had a swab done. It came back negative. Wasn't good enough...everyone said blood test. Well, went for the blood test and it came back negative. Doctor said it is partial menopausal and yeast infection.

Please. Please. PLEASE....just get tested. You will save your sanity. This group has been a great support for me. But other that, use this group as support, but please dont believe what you read at some random site. Be strong. Thank you group for all of your encouragement and kind words!

Sometimes you have to get retested to give the antibodies enough time some people does come out negative but they actually have herpes

I totally agree. This will be about my 5th blood test. It is really just a piece of mind. My doctor said with the stress and the level of hypocondria that I have...I would have breakouts weekly. He feels confident on the results I had.

No. I was raped several years ago...been tested several times for everything. Its hard because I went into denial...

I had a yeast infection and assumed it was herpes. All my tests have been negative.

I was just stressing the importance of the testing. And thanking everyone for the support on here smile

I don't know why in gods name you'd think you had herles, because of a rash on the back of your knees. That is just strange.

Not the back of my knees. The crease of my legs, by where the elastic of my underwear is.

And for the record, you can get herpes anywhere on your body, even in your eyes. That is why they stress washing your hands thourghly if you touch your sores.

Well yes, buy you'd first have to have herpes really to spread it there, unless you are a wrestler. Trust me hun, I know this virus inside and out. Me personally, I'd not thought it herpes had that happen to me, but rather a heat rash.. Alas, it is good news and good for you! Now let this be a learning lesson for you, so you don't wind up like us! :-)

I never meant any disrespect....by no means. My rape opened my eyes to being very cautious. But having been raped, trust me, heat rash was always the furthest from my mind.

I am truly grateful to this site for the support I was given during my panic attacks.

And, again, no disrespect..."like us"? You are not different and you are still human and i respect your views and comments.

I don't think you were trying to be disrespectful, not sure why I gave you the impression I thought you were . but I don't think that. I'm just glad you don't have to experience a burden such as this.

I didn't realize your rape was recent to the symptoms.. I am so sorry you had to go through that and I hope you find some peace and I'm even more thankful you don't have to have herpes on top of that trauma.

I appreciate what you said about like us, but I don't mean it in a way, that we arw different or less than, but meaning you won't have to bare the burden of learning to adapt to life w something we will have for the rest of our lives ... Alas, it was still very sweet what you said. I sincerely hope you find peace in all this and wish you the best.

I have read several of your responses to different threads on here. You truly are an angel. You have given very in depth and heartfelt responses, and although I am glad I am negative, it was because of people like you who pulled me through the trauma. I am sorry that you have to deal with it all....but whether or not you are of faith or not, I do believe you will be rewarded for your caring and informative insight to others.

Thank you for being you....and prayers to you of comfort. You are an amazing human being.

Thank you so much for that.. I needed to hear that on days like today, that I don't feel I'm strong or loved.. I have it rough and I just want people to never feel like alone, damaged or like they're not worth anything. It breaks my heart, especially the young girls that come on here and say such awful things about themselves. Some need tough love and say it straight, yiu can tell by how they respond or words they use and then others need to be handled w care. I try to respond to every post.. One of the most heart breaking things in the world to me, is the crushed and broken heart of a girl. About a decade ago my beat friend came clean on getting herpes from her bf and when she told me, I will never forget her crying and the pain I heard in her voice. She never cried and was always stoic and it just crushed me and made me cry. She asked me who was going to want her now w so much anguish and I remember feeing like I can't breathe, because my cheat was so tight. I remember it like it was yesterday and I love her like a little sister, so it broke a part of me to hear her say that. So being that experience and now mine, I don't want girls yo ever feel this way. She is now happily married w two beautiful children. So there is love and happiness after this and all of you will get that one day.

Be strong my friend. You've got this..even though it doesn't seem like it, remember, the sun always makes it's way out of the dark.

I am doing well. I have made it one week on no daily meda for the first time in 6 months since getting it. 1000mlgs of valtrex I was still having one to two obs a month and having about 10-20 symptoms a day. Now I have about 0-3 symptoms a day. Like a funny nerve sensation or an itch, but not really. I feel it is because of the probiotics I started taking daily. I thought I would have symptoms every day like I used to on all those meda. That I could never feel confident not spreading this, but now I feel confidence and hope. It really has made all the difference for me. Since it was yeast, you should take a probiotic daily as well. I'm someone who can itch from yeast popping up, but probiotics will fix that if you have a lot of yeast build up in your digestive track.
