Get Tested

It amazes me not only that people come to this forum seeking diagnoses, but also that people offer diagnoses. No doctor will diagnose via the internet without proper testing. It stands to reason that we non medical professionals can't and shouldn't be offering diagnoses on this forum. The only way to know for sure is with proper laboratory tests.

I wish my OB would stop. Taking 1000mg/valtrex a day and it's doing NOTHING!! Every week an OB happens...I'm ready to give up on everything...going see an infectious disease Dr in November and see what they say...when that much meds ain't working something is not right...

I agree that he forum is a great resource for support and information exchange- that's the whole purpose. But I'm concerned about people coming on to ask IF they have HSV. Even worse, several people replied to a photo and offered their opinions on whether or not the sore was HSV. At least two people said no, that's not HSV. Well, what if it is and this person relies on this internet diagnosis, and gives HSV to someone else? The only way to help yourself and not communicate the virus is to be certain that you have it. And the only way to be certain is to get tested. And even that isnt 100% accurate. But it certainly better than amateur speculation.

I've had it bout 5 months now..though it was a heat rash...nope!! It doesn't blister or hurt or burn, it's just like bumps and then they go away and start again...I'm going see an infectious disease Dr and find out wth is going on
