Getting Into a Flap!!!

About 2yrs ago I was dignosed with kidney stones - this was after a couple of CT scans where they also found a cyst on my left ovary. I was told it was a simple cyst and to leave it alone.

Now - I really haven't had that many symptoms, and no real pain either, except a kinda fullness sometimes, so my GP sent me for an ultra sound.

The radiographer found a cyst on the same ovary and advised a repeat US 6 weeks later.

However my GP refered me to a Gyny - and I had an internal US carried out, where the doc found my left ovary was approx 6cm in diameter.

She is unsure what kind of cyst it is, but is leaning towards a dermoid.

Oddly enough I hadn't had a period for about 6 months then right after the US I took a period!!

I've been referred for surgery but I'm worried. Blood tests were also taken, but I'd like to know how long before I get any sort of result.

My wee knees are knockin' here.

I'm seeing my GP tomorrow 13th August (of course!!).

Oddly enough, and I don't know if I'm imagining things but I'm aware of a sort of tugging sensation low done in my groin area (sorry if that's too much info). Last night I had like cramp pains too, but they went away by this morning.

Who'd be a wummin eh - I'm definately coming back as a man.

I'll let you know how I get on.

    Hi Tracey

Yup I know what you mean - I keep getting a weird sensation in my ribs, and I'm always trotting off to the loo as well!! (sorry too much info).

I told my GP and she said it's probably pressure from the cyst - ohh joy right enough.

I thought I could go back to work but my GP won't let me - and she's hoping I should get a hozzie date fairly soon.

No other results yet from my bloods which I'm guessing is good - no news is good news right.

I'm feeling very apprehensive about the surgery, which my GP said to make sure the surgeon knows about - pre meds are wonderful things.

Wonder if it's too soon to ask for it now?!!

Hope you're doing OK and taking things in your stride.

    Hi Janice

I am quite lucky I think because my sick is in the school holidays so I am not actually missing work but even though I dont get paid for my holidays they still want sick notes. I am due to go back in 2 weeks though but my Gp has signed me off until Sept 10th or 11th I think.

My Gp is waiting for my appointment too as the hospital havent written to hiim so he wasnt happy

I thought I was getting better as my ovulation had passed no problems then the week before my period passed no probs.

    But........

Then my period was 5 days late and now I have that awful pressure again and constant dull pain in my pevic area and stomach. We went out in the car today and every bump on the road was agony.

I have had an anti inflammatary that they gave me from the hospital but not doing any good. I came home and cried as very tearful again as I am sick of not knowing whats going on and when I am going to be pain free again

My scan is on the 20th Aug so not long to wait now

I hope you get the date for your surgery soon cant be at all pleasant carrying a dermoid cyst

    Be good and take care

    Tracey x
