Hello Dawn.  Well I have been on Prozac for 30 days now and I still get facial and jaw pain.   Also I sweat more than usual.   I have wanted to throw this med in the garbage.   But then I hear stories of people going thru hell for longer than 30 days.  I have been on other meds and this Prozac is a bear to adjust to.  I have general anxiety disorder so adjustment periods are rough for the anxious.    Can you Dawn give me any input.

      Thank you

Hiya Craig... I understand what you are saying and feeling, and yeah Prozac is hard too,  not just for you, but I think for every one on here who’s been down this long hall.. I was on trazadone for 15 yrs b4 this med, and that one was soooo easy for me, no side effects, and helped me to sleep, but had to come of that meds as seem to stop working😏

But Prozac wow, I really do understand people want to give in with this med, as at 6days in to it, I was ready to quit, it was hell on earth for me, you don’t say at what high you are on??

I started of on 20mg and worked up to 60mg which is now what I’m on... to be honest for ME ( not every one)  untill I got up to the 60mg after 3mths I was up and down, good days and bad, but the longer I was taking this med, the good days out weighed the bad...

Some people stick on 20 and are happy with that, but for me, I wanted the less bad days, so my doc put me up to 60mg over the months, and I’m glad he did, as now, I’m feeling very good, still have a low day, now and again, but nothing that bothers me..

This med is a very, very slow drug to work, and can take for ever, if your on a lower does, then maybe you need to go higher, to benefit from this med, but that’s your chiose and yours aloan...

Iv spoke to many people on here who have been turned inside out with this med, and like you wanted to give in, but they managed to stick with it, and glad they did, as now life is much better for them...

You’ve come this far now, and intime  the side effects will go away, uv just got to hang in there and take each day as it comes, you will get there, and it is a good med when it’s fully working...

So try to bear with it, and go higher if you think you need to, but just remember each time you increase, you go backwards for a few days, for a few people, and feel low or anxiety again, it will pass tho... stick with it, defo worth it in the end, and life can be normal again if you give it chance... best of luk so hope it works for you 🤗x

Thank you Dawn for taking time out to respond.  Yea it's a risk to keep going especially when one feels even more anxious.  I am on 10 mg of Prozac.  It's low but I have to go slow because my body is so sensitive to this med.  I hope the sweating and facial pain goes away.   I have about 2 more weeks in me then I will have to reevaluate.  Thank you again.

Hi there.. there’s a lot of people sensitive to this drug... the longer your on it the more your body will settle down, so try and bear with it the best you can, the symptoms, do pass, honest🙂

Just try not to focus to much on anxious feeling you have, the more you do, the worse it will get, try and do some thing, just to take your mind of it, easy said then done I know.... but it is really a great med, just once it settles down in your body...

you will get there I’m sure, just keep going, the symptoms will ease, really hope it works for you, it’s just time, taken me 4mths to feel at my best, yes that seems to long to wait, I throught that when I was told to give it time, good luk, let’s us know if you get through this crap stage, we’ve all been there 🤗x

Dawn you are an inspiration! I am on day 7 of 20 mg of Flu going from 20mg of paxil for 20 years to  this med as the paxil just was not working. So now my body is in limbo going from one to the other.  Your words of encouragement are amazing!!!  I would love to give you a big hug.

Rrrr bless you kati... yep I know how it feels, it was as tho I was in this black tunnel, and I could see the light at the end, but just couldn’t reach it...

You will get there, think we all want it to work yesterday, as we can’t stand the depression any more, you will look back on this one day, and think your glad you’ve stuck with it, as now I can smile again, and you will too, so don’t give in, just come and chat on here, I’m always here to listen and help you through the bad days, but also the good, we all are.. big hug to you🤗please keep in touch as so nice to here people feeling good again, as tomorrow could just be that day 🙂xx
