I had to go on Flouextine due to hormone fluctuations as I am in perimenopause and i got anxiett and panic disorder. My generally anxiety is better on Flouextine but hormones do play a big part in the ups & downs. Try taking flaxseed oil capsules or Angus castra they helped me. I don'the know how old you are but bio identical hormone creams can help they have been my life saver

41 years is not to young to go through perimenopause (not menopause) your hormones fluctuate excessively as your reproductive system starts slowing being regular is nothing unusual I am only 49 years and up to 6 months ago was very regular. Just bear in mind that peri can last 1 - 12 years.

I also notice increased anxiety around period time. I got my period 2 days ago but i also increased my dosage 4 days ago and i have a bit of anxiety back although it's manageable, so it's hard to tell what it's from. It will definitely calm down. Have you noticed any positives yet?

Glad to hear you are doing okay.

Well One of the reasons I've started fluoxetine is because of my terrible periods but this one just is out of control and much worse then before the meds. As soon as my period started I had uncontrollable crying, utter exhaustion and anxiety and low mood. Just feel awful.

      Hi Jayne

I've been on 40 mg fluoxetine for 5 weeks now and I get period symptoms but no actual period for the last 2 months. Every time my period is due my anxiety goes through the roof. It's got more manageable but still horrible every time it comes to that time of the month. X
