So when you say after showering that could be part of what is going on: when the sensitive skin of the penis is compromised (the redness and other irritation) you need to look to what the skin is in contact with.
So, do you use soap and things like shower gel directly on your penis, to either wash your penis with when not showering, or / and when you are showering?
The other thing you need to avoid is hot water contacting the skin on the head / glans of your penis
