good experiences

Hello everyone
I'd like to hear of any good experiences you are having while on flu. I'm thinking of switching from Citalopram to flu and hope it makes a difference to my depression.
Like most people, I tend to look at the bad experiences which puts me off. So I'm hoping that if I hear of any good experiences it might help me to make the switch.
Thankyou

I started Flu last thursday and had some really horrid side effects and was starting to wonder if i had done the right thing in taking them! But i woke up today after having slept a full night (well i think i did! lol. cant remember waking up as usual!) and although i feel a little on edge, i dont really have any of the side effects i had until now! although i feel nevous i feel pretty good today! (YAY!)
Its my first wedding anniversary next week and i found out by accident that my hubby has booked a really nice hotel for us this weekend, so i hope its not just the excitement of that, thats making me feel so good today, and that it wil be a more perminent feeling!
take care!

I too felt better after the first week or so, apart from lack of sleep. Unfortunatley it was short lived and probably due to exhaustion. Everyone seems to react differently, but the general consensus is that it takes 6-8 weeks to work properly. I'm on week 3 now, up and down, but with the support here I am detrmined to see it through.
My GP has just put me on 7.5mg zopiclone for 2 months. Last night was first night and although I had did have a better sleep I was nearly asleep at my desk about an hour ago, roll on the afternoon.
I too was on citalopram last year, it didn't help me, but made mistake of stopping and not going back to my GP.
Just discuss it with your GP, am sure you will get good advice.
Take care

I took one citalopram last year, it was the first AD i went on and that first night i've never felt so ill in my life, i sat downstairs all night, sat there mind racing and shaking uncontrollably, had two hours sleep on the settee. Two days later i went back to the doc and got flu. After about 5 or 6 weeks of side effects flu kicked in and the good days far out numbered the bad. I've now been on flu a year and feel \"myself\" most days. My problems are still there so i don't expect to have no anxiety. I've been slowly coming off flu since christmas. So really i'd say if you're not happy with citalopram then have a word with your doc and perhaps try flu. It's truely not all bad.
Good luck, let us know what you do.

I'm probably going to live to regret this..........but today i had an excellent day.
Yesterday evening i had a reflexology appointment. I was so relaxed afterwards. Got home and had the best nights sleep for ages.
Got up this morning feeling happy. Even found myself whistling which has been rare of late. Had a good day at work. Came home and washed and polished the car, something i haven't done since last year.
I am on week 15 of flu. I was on 20mgs for 9 weeks which didn't work too well. I asked the doc to increase to 40mg. Have been on that the rest of the time. 40mg has levelled out my moods.
Most of the awful early side effects have gone now but other new ones pop up from time to time.
So, yes, it is possible to have good experiences whilst on AD's. However, i do agree with previous 'posters', we do tend to post when things go t#ts up.
Good luck in whatever you decide.
Best wishes. x
