Got diagnosed with hsv1 but..

It broke me out in the genital region REALLY bad. They said this was normal? Ugh it's so painful. I'm taking Valtrex and Tylenol every 4 hours but I can't walk barely. Anything I can do to help the pain? Sitting in the tub helps but I can't do that all day, I have 3 small children.

Liquid orajel bought at grocery stores and cvs walgreens etc. put some on your finger and put it on the area, repeat when necessary, as soon as its on there its gonna numb that whole area love and keep a paper towel between your legs to keep the area dry. The dryer the better. No panties while at home. This has helped me tremendously, also to pee sit in warm bath its not quite as painful this way. <3 i have hsv-2 i="" have="">

Try soaking in Epsom bath salts, applying diluted tea tree oil to the area, and maintaining your fluid intake. If it burns when you pee, the latter is especially important, plus you can pour water down there while urinating.

Otherwise, keep up with meds and wait it out. The first week is usually the worst, as is the first outbreak. You'll likely not outbreak again, or very seldom, since you have Type 1.

Some people also use topical lidocaine.

the best remedy I have come across, tried and tested are coconut oil; the proper organic stuff. Organic Apple cider vinegar, and organic raw garlic. Both the vinegar and garlic are painful however, soothe afterwards with the coconut oil. You must get these from a proper health food place. Acyclovir did nothing but make me feel ill. Herbal remedies are proven to have have healing properties and help kill off the virus. It worked when my outbreak was severe. I also recommend manuka honey with +16

I was in the exact position you are in.. I also have 3 small children and during my outbreak I couldn't even stand up.. It was the most painful thing I've ever experienced in my life.. Child birth was a breeze compared to that outbreak. My doctor wrote me a script for topical lidocaine. Also, whenever you can I would recommend just wearing a long tee shirt and no pants no underwear. It's hard with the kids to do that but you want as much air down there as you can get. Salt bath definitely and afterwards if you have a blow dryer on low setting blow dry yourself down there. Keep it as dry as possible! Ibuprofen helped me more than Tylenol I would take 800 mg every 6 hours and extra strength Tylenol somewhere in between or at the same time. You can take ibuprofen and Tylenol together since ibuprofen doesn't contain acetaphetomine like Tylenol does. I also was prescribed pain pills as well. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Just remember you aren't alone.
