so happy to discover this place! I has a thr 9 days ago, I had major groin before operation and it hadn't gone away completely after but last night my crutch got caught on a wire, I tripped didn't fall over but stumbled and must of put quite a bit of weight on bad leg, the groin pain was instantly worse, had a bad night of it and it's been bad all day, feels like a bad sprain. I can put weight on my leg and still walk with crutches, how worried should I be? I will call the hospital tomorrow if its just as bad, really hoping it will of eased a bit but feel pretty worried that ive done some sort of bad damage. just wondered if theres anyone else who's done anything similar? many thanks

Haven't had mine done yet but I personally would get it checked if it's still painful, better to be sure you haven't done anything to it, it will probably be fine though and you just pulled it

Sorry to hear about your almost fall. I stepped down off a curb about 2 weeks after my hip surgery and boy did it hurt. Just to be safe, you should probably check with your doctor. In the mean time, try icing the area.

hi I'm 5 weeks post OP. agree with the others I'd get it checked or at least talk to the hospital. my impression of a dislocation tho is besides the pain you cant walk on it - but that could vary I suppose. good luck. it's easily done tho tripping . let us know how you get on

thanks everyone. woke up this morning and did my exercises straight away, feels a lot better this morning, its just so nerve wrecking, I'd rather be put to sleep for the next few months !! cant wait for the bruising to go, the back of my knee is terrible, I'd just been able to hold my weight with it the day I tripped! wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy!!

I had a slip, by kicking the crutch that was most important trying to get through a small space in the bathroom. It sent me flying and I landed bent double over the bath. I had it checked out at A&E who xrayed it to check nothing had dislocated. it gave me peace of mind. I was really sore from the jolt around my hip and groin but that went. hope you feel better soon.xx

So glad you're feeling better Kirsten and I can feel your pain.
I'm 10 days post THR and my surgeon has me using a 2 wheeled walker. A few days ago, I was carrying some stuff (it doesn't have a basket) and couldn't see one of the wheels catch my dog's bed. Suddenly the walker lurches and falls forward, crashing onto my foot. I'm so lucky I didn't fall too. But my groin wasn't too happy the following day. Oy vey!
