Guidance please

I am 9 weeks post op i had a FHR on my right leg due to a fall on compacted snow in Auschwitz. Seen the consultant last week and he's happy with progress but gave me another 6 weeks off work! I need to get back to work sooner, can anyone suggest an exercise that works better than others, my office is 3 flights up in a listed building. I can do most things on one crutch but I need to be fit sooner rather than later and because I was fit and healthy before my accident I am not eligible for physio! I feel abandoned and frustrated frown

I understand your frustration  but give it time. I went back to work after 13 weeks after hip replecement.  Doctor did not let me go earlier. Try pool excersice that halp. I had hydro therapy for 3 weeks and that help lots.

    Hang there will get beter.

Thank you Madla. I have a hot tub and was in it for the first time in Sunday doing my exercises. I dont have the confidence to get in it in my own, need help to get in and out, so i am at the mercy of others. Its surprising to me that as a confident woman i am now much less confident. Again that will take time. 😊

      Hi Fiona,

I am glad I am not the only one who no longer feels confident. I said to my husband yesterday "if it is raiining tomorrow I cannot go for my walk" he could not understand why. I was worried in case my crutch to slipped from under me and jolted me he said "people go out with crutches in the rain". I know it is silly but I am losing confidence as I feel vunerable with the precautions.

Yeah I don't think your the only one, I went to the Dr while it was raining and I did slip this set me back a bit. I'm very shaky in and out the shower.

That is interesting other people have lost confidence too. I am terrible, driving, walking down steps, walking on rough ground.......

I went for a job interview today, they asked me to take a seat but they were to low! I shuffled round a bit but thought there is no way I can get on it let alone get back off it! So I apologised and was offered a taller chair 🤣😂😂😂

I think because i had an accident and it was not prepared for any of this i feel i have lost part of me! Elective surgery is one thing but BAM out of the blue you are incapacitated in a foreign country. I totally felt very vulnerable. Next winter i will just lock myself away if theres any ice or snow😨😱

The confidence will come back as normality sets in Im sure. Its just a matter of time 😊

We have cobbles in our village and i walk further round the outside to avoid them. We all have things that we think could be harmful however crazy it seems to those around us! You do what is right for you.
